Why do people say California hoods look safe, no hoods look safer than New York City

LA hoods look worse
in parts of compton, on the east side of south central, parts of inglewood and the low bottoms/watts. Go to Carson and Gardena, the majority of Inglewood, West LA for gang banging with nice neighborhoods

Those aren’t hoods tho. I’m talking actual hoods. Carson has never been no damn hood.

The suburbs
but carson is active lol stevenson village, 190 ecbc especially, piru/blood hoods
I notice LA dudes consider places hoods that will literally be consider safe suburbs in other cities. And I’m not talcn about aesthetically. I mean actual danger wise

Example it’s suburbs in Dallas way more dangerous than Carson and all these other Cali suburbs, but no one considers them “hood” or “active”

Nah I was attempting to imply that New York doesn't do the banging for the sake of it shyt. Majority of beefs here are directly personal shyt.

Dudes would be in a gang and ONLY have beef with a specific group of individuals from a different one, but it won't really turn into a full on gang vs gang beef.

Mostly because of the structure of the city. It's not really feasible to claim a whole neighborhood. And we like to get fly, so that color banging shyt is a dub.

Not saying Cali nikkas ain't fly but y'all are limited just saying :hubie:
Zay touched on it, but it's generally personal in California too. Most Bloods and Crips have friends and family from a rival area, it's only like 1 outta 10 that are super banged out, don't fukk with rivals, etc...

There's always gonna be misperception from outsiders on the functionality of California gangs. 99% of gangs aren't claiming entire neighborhoods, they turf is only a few blocks before you get to the next area...

We aint limited in the flyness either but it's all good 😂

Wow, when I lived in NYC I use to eat at that Union Square Popeyes all the time! :russ:

Small world :wow:

To me, Florida Popeyes and various NYC Popeyes I been too taste the same.... Popeyes is a chain, yall really think some Popeyes tastes better than others?
You’d be surprised how some chains differ according to location :ehh:

Wing Stop in NYC is :ahh:
Wing Stop in the Phoenix area is :hhh:

He must've been to yankee stadium or the courts because that's the only place where Grand Concourse is clean and crawling with cops. The Hoe Dasity of some of these nikkas :bryan:
I actually thought he meant Fordham and GC when he said that. Above that ain’t bad but when you go south of Fordham GC it’s a different ball game :ehh:
This doesn’t sound like fried chiccen
I’m from The Bronx and have no idea what Italian cheese from Kennedy is :dwillhuh:

Italian cheese from Kennedy is most likely multiple cheeseburger patties in a hero bun, I never ordered that from there but I have seen it on the menu

From The Westside With Love
Someone I work with said recently that there are practically zero Asian gangs anymore here in Cali and actually I haven’t heard anything regarding Asian gangs for a minute. Basically zero Filipino sets out in the Valley anymore.

Out in Long Beach I remember when shyt was warfare between some of them and other groups (how the conversation started). shyt was all over the news.

People really need to leave that shyt behind and focus on better things.

This is definitely not true, ABZ and TRG have an active beef in Long Beach. They got some talented rappers but they value being active gang members more than they do rap careers.

Wah Ching and others are definitely still around too.

A lot of them just purposely don't make waves because it's bad for business.

Just cause the majority of Carson is single family homes, gated complexes, and everything off Turmont looks relatively "nice" doesn't mean the Scottsdales, Stevenson Village and other spots aren't hood.

part of the reason that 190's are extra'd out is cause Carson has always had the reputation of where well to do blacks moved in the late 60's and 70's and they had to prove they weren't soft compared to Long Beach and Compton.

You missed my point

I’m not saying areas that LA ppl consider a hood are not bad enough to be considered hoods in other cities

If you dropped Carson off in the DFW, no one would consider it a hood. There are areas out here a lot more dangerous than Carson and no one considers them a hood

You know watching Boyz N the Hood as a kid I would say to myself "it looks beautiful there, palm trees, lawns, houses" I lived in a regular NYC block that looked a bit grimy in comparison, at least in NYC we had a reason to be angry, all stacked up on top of each other. This was my thinking as a kid. lol

nyc no borders between billionaires & beggars

you can go from a open air drug market with fiends laid out on the block to the spot where the most billionaires on earth have a residence

you cannot really tell much from the outside looking in..........

*
"No borders between billionaires & beggars" that's a good movie or book title.

A lot of what people have been trained to view as dangerous simply just doesn't work in LA.

You show them the Overhills,West Adams or the Jungles, and in their mind there is no way that it could be dangerous cause there are plants, houses with yards that people take care of,parks and picturesque views.

Even riding down Alameda, they'd still be like :russell:
I think as an outsider we learned about yall hoods from film and music. So we couldn’t imagine a safe looking area being dangerous. But it can happen anywhere

I've been hearing stories for years about how wide open the 80s was. I believe it was probably easier to run it up, I feel like it was easier to run it up in my day than it is today, so I can buy it to an extent...

But a bunch of these 80s nikkas be putting on extras. I had a handful of dudes from that era tell me that years back. My mom told me that years back. There's always been guys that'll put two on ten, or say they were bigger than what they were, and it's easier for guys to get away with exaggerating because it WAS so wild west back then, and so many people from back then are no longer around. It was probably easier for flunkies to run a check up..
Maybe they could’ve back then less cameras, dudes still kinda had integrity being a rat wasn’t respected. I remember my first cell phone I had didn’t have a camera on it. It was a flip phone. These cameras and high technology slowed up a lot of activity too.
