Why do college educated black women seemingly, immediately write off blue collar black men?

This is a crazy statement I know plenty of sisters that bust their ass in school and went on to do white collar work

Especially millennial black women as they’re were an abundance of grants available to them to use for college

You think every black woman at college comes from a 2 parent household?

Or perhaps you think people from broken homes are lesser than or something huh ?

People be saying anything with the Black women defense force.

Black families been broken since the 70’s and now we’re going with these white collar working Black women are from healthy two parent families? Even white women are coming from single parents now.

And he said white collar workers A 40K a year receptionist is a white collar worker too.

Blue collar men with great jobs/earnings want to build something with a good woman, but they're more likely to have to date down economically because the only women making $$$$ are college educated.

College educated women either grew up with a blue collar dad, no dad or a white collar dad. For whatever reason, they don't feel like they'd be compatible with a blue collar man. Why? Hard to say....

Men will date down in terms of education AND economics if the woman checks off every box. Women will not unless they themselves can't get anything better. Example - a woman that's a chunky "5" with a decent job....she's not attracted to men on her level but she can't pull men above her level, so she settles for a tall/handsome couch-surfer.

Secondly, what exactly do you mean by “blue-collar”, which could mean anything? There are different tiers to blue-collar jobs.

Maybe Gen Z Black women feel a certain way about men working these professions; I say that because they're the ones most likely influenced by social media, dating shows, etc, that exaggerate what the dating world really is for the average person walking down the street.

Black women, a part of the Gen X and Millennials crowd, are more open-minded, dating men working these types of jobs, along with having their own place and showing signs that he's well kept in terms of living, y'know, not looking or moving around like a bum. The main attraction for them is that he has a job/career, glimpses of being educated don't have to be a PhD, Bachelor's, or anything extravagant like that but rather just showing he has intellect/intelligence, and most importantly a place of his own, which these days, being a Black man with those qualities things usually will put you in the upper tier of men.

A lot of these questions y'all be asking are generational dependent and kinda show the cultural divide between the generations.

No they are not They are just as bad as the young ones out here still tryna get chose by the top 20 percent of dudes and competing with the young girls on social media

If they do decide to give the blue collar dude play, it's because they're past their prime and have kids and are running out of options

This is not to say that blue collar dudes can't eat out here because if a woman is attracted to you it supercedes all of this, I'm just saying in general that they are rarely the 1st choice because blue collar work is not prestigious or glamorous

Yeah that part I disagree but everything else its true. I married my wife for her humbleness, peace around her and how she treats me and others. I could care less her occupation, financial portfolio, how much she can squat and all that

There are a lot of hidden jobs that are not college degree required that make bank. I talked about the merchant marine on here before.

If you get your merchant marine credential at 18 and then train to be a tankerman or engineer over 5 years or so you are making 70k minimum at age 23/24. Become an engineer or boat captain by late 20s and you are $100k min, usually $120k+....and you only work 6 months out of the year cumulative.

Also, unless you go to maritime academy (which will get you promoted even faster) there is usually almost no student debt since the training is mostly on the job or maritime test prep books and courses.

lots of bread in that field. That, longshoremen, dockworkers, etc. But it can be hard to get in there. With Longshoremen, once you make your hours and get in, you gucci cause you can knock your required hours out annually usually in the first 6 months and coast or take up OT the rest of the year.

Not gona lie but our brothers needs to level up also. I cringe when I see alot of our folks working retail or fast food spots knowing it's a dead end job unless the company is paying for their school. I had an employee that worked a grave yard security job on the weekend. He used that time to study and get his Doctorate. Honestly companies paying for school is really the only reason to get into dead end jobs. If school isn't for you then learn a trade which is extremely profitable especially now. If that isn't your thing either then work for a large warehouse or logistics company and try to move up as far as you can without a degree in either management or get a trucking gig. There's options out there for alot of folks they don't don't have the drive or been beaten down mentally that they think minumn wage is all they can get. I know somone right now that had a part time job since he was 20 years old and is now 40 and content living with his mother and no desire being FT.

Women let these degrees go to their head

They either try to use them as a valuable quality that makes them dateable (it's not, idc I'm still paying for 90 percent of what we do, why would u having a degree make a difference?)

Or they use their degree to throw their nose up at everyone without one, only to find out the pool of men for a stuck up materialistic college educated women is very very small and full of competition, and damn near non existent if youre ugly. They end up having "sex" nights with their friends and maybe becoming a single mother by that guy she lets slide thru on weekends

Or they turn gay

The end result of these women going to college seems not to be happy families and the overall upliftment of the community, but debt is at an all time high
