I said this back then and I’ll say it with the utmost confidence now: KD > Max Potential Oden

Shades of Sam Bowie :scust:

Larry Brown wasn't a good coach?

He was a template coach. That needed it all his way. Where he wants a certain type to be his pg leader.
I can not stand larry brown and think he ruined ai as a leader and neutered ai. That eventually physically ai was never going to be able to compete from wear and tear out of position at sg wrongly.

That to this day ai is not given a role as a leader by positon and perception on court wrongly. plus it neutered the idea of what a pg was supposed to be.
with the parochial vs public idea as well.

I've always why the Pistons didn't draft Melo in 2003 especially considering they already had a dope squad with outstanding team chemistry.

Instead Detroit drafted Darko and Carmelo ended up with the Denver Nuggets
:snoop:

Even Bron thought Carmelo Anthony was gonna be drafted by the Pistons

Your thoughts brehs ?
Copying this from another thread that asked a similar question:

OP asked about the backstory. The backstory is that the Pistons hired an international scout, Tony Ronzone. He is the guy that scouted Dirk, and told Mark Cuban/Don Nelson, do whatever you can to draft this guy, he will be a superstar. Of course, he was right.

However, he scouted Darko, and told Joe Dumars the same exact thing, draft this dude, he will be your center for the next 15 years :francis:, Can't be right all the time I guess.

To top it off, when the Pistons were playing the Nets in the 2003 ECF, Darko was in the building working out. Dumars and the Pistons players saw him, and were like :ohhh:, we need this guy.

So all in all, Dumars was set on drafting Darko with the #2 pick, no matter what. They worked out Bosh and liked him, but were enamored with Darko.

get these nets

Above the fray.
No. Any coach that loses a game to larry ayuso and carlos arroyo does not deserve to be called a great coach.

Coached Danny Manning and Jayhawks to NCAA title
Coached superstar-less Pistons team to 2 Finals and a ring
Coached the Sixers to the Finals

Unless I'm mistaken he's only guy to coach NCAA and NBA champ teams

But, ok...

I am all for the type of player kd is.
I made bread off using a kd player before kd in videogames.
so, I totally understand.
yet as far as playing high percentage basketball as a rule.

you would take oden over durant. Durant physically could not be looked to as a guy over oden. In that exact time even on paper.

Dallas by way of Houston by way of San Antonio
They saw Ginobili come through and crush the buildings for SA in 2003. :wow:

Saw the Spurs had another one in Tony Parker :wow:

Pop sabotaged them two years in advance by showcasing his Euros (I know, Manu ain't Euro, but he played Euro ball) knowing we'd see the Pistons in the Finals within a couple of years :sas1:

Tried to gift the Lakers a ring in the process (04), but they dropped the ball :sas2:

Just my opinion, but if Mel had character issues I feel like the rest of the Pistons woulda checked him real quick and he would've been cool and humble, yet still ball out.

Can you imagine Carmelo with the Pistons, that squad would have been crazy!

I remember that period easy.
It just made it easier for them to steal the sonics .
how okc did it.

I understand that the NBA fans were really excited hosting the Hornets because of Katrina, henceforth OKC being a good place for an NBA team.

My question is do you think Seattle will ever have another basketball team because their fans were lit and loyal, plus in my generation they were always very talented. Seattle loved the Sonics, I know they have other teams but I do hope they get another NBA team.

how u gone have a WNBA team but no NBA, like wtf
