yeah they should have traded down from the number one pick, and used the extra picks to take ware, roddy white and rodgers, then use later round picks on justin tuck and v jax

I remember "experts" gushing over Alex Smith because he scored high on his Wonderlic and was only 20.

Like they said about Brady....sometimes you can't evaluate how much somebody wants it, and you can't evaluate heart!

Those are 2 things you gotta hope your QB has.

Mike mayock said jemarcus Russell had one of the best pro days he had seen. Now look at him.

the mechanics shyt was always overstated. he was just fine in college. he adjusted it a bit but its largely the same mechanics besides the way he held the ball and the way hed come off the snap.

gtfoh....

I may be a bears fan but Ill admit Ar12 is top 3 right now, but when he was coming out his mechanics sucked.. It took him a lot of hard work to get where hes at now..

People in here are acting like he had peyton manning hype coming out

Smith was fundamentally ready, Rodgers wasn't. He was very raw. He looked like crap his first two years in pre-season as well. What Rodgers improved on made him who he is today.

this is pile of bullshyt. rodgers was playing well in a pro offense in a pretty good pac 10, smith was running a gimmick offense down in fukking utah

"fundamentals" lol. we havent seen anything fundamental out of alex until last year :mindblown:

:beli: And the Raiders took Fabian Washington and Rogers was literally picked next after us. :snoop: Rodgers really wouldn't have been the player that he is now if he immediately took over for Favre. I remember during his first couple of preseason games his first 2-3 seasons behind Favre, he was :gag: He was really bad from what I remembered.

Easy to say now, and I still wish we would've, but at the same time it's not like he would've had a good-great QB to sit behind, and he wasn't ready to start. Had he started, we would've probably had a similar history with bad seasons and tons of OC's and who knows how Rodgers would've turned out. :sadbron: still hurts

Rodgers wouldn't be nearly as good as he is now if he was drafted by the niners..People forget he sat behind Favre for a few years, he would've been the starter DAY 1 on the Niners

You act as if Favre mentored him.

Also, Smith didn't start since Day 1. Rattay started then Smith played later in the season. Still, Smith was not ready and he was unfairly rushed by a dumb coach.
