THE CHICAGO HOUSE MUSIC SCENE
(THE ORIGINAL HOUSE MUSIC SCENE)
HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH GAYS
NOR THE GAY COMMUNITY.
ONCE GAYS CAUGHT ON TO HOUSE,
BLACKS GOT OFF THAT WAVE
AND CACS CO OPTED.
THE OLDER HEADS STILL HAVE A GIGANTIC HOUSE MUSIC PARTY
OFF LAKE SHORE DRIVE EVERY YEAR IN CHICAGO.
NON GAY shyt.
This kinda falls into, people in Chicago ignoring and playing along.
Chicago is a house city and culture as in hiphop culture is juxtaposed from house, of which house having no culture.
This whole Chicago tries to front like it knows the culture of hiphop as its mainstay is a bandwagon based lie. Chicago is a house city and not sure how old you are but if you were in the actual hiphop culture scene you should know the difference.
Not sure where you partied or what side of the city you from but the whole act like house is not gay is Chicago trying to portray sumfin it is not behind its gang culture bravado. Real talk, nikkaz in Chicago used to never listen to rap and did not know hiphop and wore chiffon shirts and slacks with dress shoes. This whole try to look more mainstream cultural in hiphop look in Chicago. came after the marketing of Leo Burnett nationally and then globally. House was always fruit booty shyt and Chicago tries to make it like it was never predominately Influenced by this and it is wholely and completely influenced by this. Just the fact people who do house style dance try to make it like they are into hiphop is a lie. House o matics, u phi u and all those house people were never openly allowed in hiphop cultural parties. To the point the DJ would fake play perculator and anyone dancing was ushered out of said hiphop culture based party. It is a reason kkc is/was seen as house and culturally its rap program was looked at as commercial and cultural never on par with hpk or later northwestern's radio show with Courtney.
This whole headfake from Chicago to try to act like it is fully cultural is a bandwagon lie.
House music ain't never been part of hiphop in Chicago.
If you went to a house party and were a bboy, in actual hiphop.
It was looked at as taboo as fukk. So after you came of age in the rink in that arena in 85-89. You either were immersed in house in general unless you were a real bboy in hiphop. Of which always caused conflicts at their shyt and eventually bboys in Chicago hip hop fought for our independence in the night scene and eventually our scene took over and eventually gave way to being taken over by the burlesque house meets what's poppin variety of club life. Which was a heterosexual offshoot of people who were originally wherehouse heterosexual patrons looking to escape the gay wherehouse turned generator crowd.
Chicago been living a lie as far as hiphop culture is concerned.
Chicago been about trying to fake and being toys after the fact.
Rap was not even played on the radio in primetime in Chicago till April 1993. Of which the playlist was dated and where the late boom after the fact nationally of deep cover to das efx they want efx came from. Which started this whole Chicago tries to olay dress up toys in hiphop gear shyt.
Regular nikkaz did not even wear girbauds and lol, at any bboys ij girbauds till they saw the light somehow. After Leo Burnett marketed hiphop nationally and then globally. Before that all bboys were looked at as alien.
Chicago is a completely house. This whole Chicago is hiphop shyt is subterfuge to look a certain way. In reality you would be hard pressed to find real real bboys after 1996. Who were not some bandwagon toys playing dress up.
House has nuffin to do with hiphop.
