Lin Manuel and him are tight maybe they can make it the next Washington Heights or Hamilton.
I was thinking the same thing.

Ha, that's the first thing that came to mind for me too.

May someone explain to me why people went aor shyt about this play.

Or was this simply cacs introduction into hip-hop with this play?

It made history cool in a way that most of the public didn't realize you could do. On top of that, the songs are actually catchy and well-written, which is a huge contrast from most musicals which kinda suck. Don't compare it to other hip hop or movies, compare it to other Broadway musicals, and you can see why it would have MUCH broader appeal than anything else being put out there.

I don't like the story cause I think it maginalizes the actual Black/Brown folk who were alive at the time and minimizes the sins of the "Founding Fathers". And I think Hamilton in real life was an elitist a$$hole whose ideas were crap. The hip hop in the musical is fairly elementary. But the songwriting is solid, casting almost entirely black/brown actors was a genius move, and it's legitimately entertaining.
