lil jon

Well shyt :dwillhuh::ohhh: The more you know.

This might also explain why GoGo and New Orleans Bounce are kinda like cousins. Hell DMV girls be going hard asf on an NO Bounce beat as they do on a GoGo beat, especially some of Big Freedia’s joints.

The South didn't have a huge nightclub scene like those cities.

This is why hip hop grew in NYC, as well

In the South partying wasn't being done all over the place, until the early morning
This might be the dumbest thing I heard on here today lol. You don't think Miami and Atlanta had huge clubs? Atlanta, New Orleans or Miami didn't party until in the morning? Foh lol

I think its fair to say Atlanta didn't have a huge party scene yet given it was an emerging metropolis from a backwater.

NOLA is and alway has been a party city. Miami Bass is as old as other drum machine based dance music as has been discussed.

Listening to the music of ATL and that movie on TLC a couple of years ago, Bass music seemed like it was a pretty big thing in Atlanta especially back in the ‘90s.

Y’all still pump out Bass music at functions, skating rinks, and clubs? And is Yeek still a thing in ATL dance culture?

You still get the Bass mixes on the radio, house parties/clubs, rinks, etc pretty frequently. Probably same way yall get the Gogo mixes or NYC brehs get the dancehall mixes.

I believe yeek and pop locking has a pretty big ecosystem on Youtube mostly with Atlanta, Memphis, Miami dance groups but thats a young persons sport lol....

My man, I didn't say they didn't have huge clubs:gucci:

I wrote they didn't have a huge nightlcub SCENE where people partied until the sun came up. There is a difference between partying outside until the sun came up, going to the major club in your area and being able to go to different nightclubs damn near everyday of the week, with people who are into the lifestyle you are into, and doing it until the sun comes up. In a nightclub you have huge soundsystem, lights, a dj, and just being in your own little world. Partying outside, is just that partying outside, unless you have a dj with a good sound system, but its still not like a nightclub.

And I'm not talking about the 90's, I'm talking about the 80's

In NYC you had clubs for gay people, clubs for hip hop people, clubs for R&B, and Latin clubs. That's not even including the block parties which happened all over the city. All of this went back to the 70's.

Atlanta, and Miami, didn't have that. In fact going by what I heard in Miami, all they had(black people) were strip clubs, and small spots, and then luke built the pac jam which was the go to spot. New Orleans partied, but I doubt they had that as well.

Stop getting emotional, and comprehend what you're reading:birdman:

Freaknik wasn't local Atlanta culture though, it drew from college kids from all over.

Like truth said, it was also an annual event not an actual scene.

New Orleans partied, but I doubt they had that as well.

Why? NOLA is a bigger melange of cultures than NYC.

But the amount of people wasn't the same.

Plus, NOLA is still like a little small town. If I'm correct the only area that is the party area is Bourbon St., and most of the partying is done in small bars, and clubs, with live bands. That is much different from going to a big nightclub with a dj who plays music from all over the place.
