Why did Kendrick play it safe with " We hate Po Po" line in Grammy performance?

I agree that's why people need to stop trying to force him to be that and just be kendrick.

Pro-black Hotep nikkas on instagram keep wanting him to be the hip-hop farrakhan and that's just not who he wants to be and people need to respect that.
he said he had a dream Pac told him to continue the legacy

Kendrick was never someone that struck me as sincere about that ish anyway so can't say I'm suprised. I guess that's 1 of the reasons I'm not a fan, his music feels a bit gimmicky and contrived to me at times. GKMC and TPAB. I just feel that lane has been done and is being done better so I can't feel it like that. I still appreciate the sentiment of Complextion though regardless.

So. Cal
the endorsements he does have are geared around his race relations/political stance...red/blue Reeboks :francis:

you sold your soul Kenny boy
Lol at Reebok dropping him for that line. Did you forget RBK and AI. Reebok was marketing straight to the hood. Y'all are so quick to put another black man down lol.

So He didn't say fukk PoPo in a room full of people that love him and nominated him for the most awards of the night for the same damn CD with the same damn lyric so that makes him a sale out? NWA have been saying fukk PoPo since the 80s. You think having cops mad at a rapper going on the news saying how disrespectful he is to authority is bad PR for a damn RAPPER? :mjlol:

when is performing a song exactly how you wrote it a point of no return?
Kendrick is in the good graces of white people at the moment.

He's conscious but safe enough. Like beyonce's formation video and super bowl performance saying "AND WE HATE POPO! WHEN THEY KILL US DEAD IN THE STREETS FA SHO!" at the Grammys would be his Beyonce super bowl moment that would ruin his reputation amongst white people. The point of no return.
