It really isn’t and only does a disservice to Bey. Her catalog cannot measure kn any way shape or form to his. Is she the goat of this generation? Yes. Of all time? No. It isn’t even nostalgia at this point, I don’t have any deep feelinfs from her music as much as I enjoy watching her perform. She’s a perfectionist and works harder than anyone out here today for sure and it shows, but she still has yet to pioneer anything like MJ.

This part is definitely true

"The omnipresence of social media and reality TV and an endless barrage of media coverage have robbed the general public of the kind of innocence that made adults faint at the sight of Michael Jackson at the height of his pop mega-stardom"

No, it isn't.:mjlol:

Does Beyonce have any classic performances where she's on stage solo? I'm talking no back up dancers and no pyrotechnics/special effects

I can't think of any. All of her performances are the same; if you saw one, you saw 'em all.

Basically. Times are different. If Beyoncé’s prime was during the same era (pre-social media), she’d be way more respected than she is now.

Actually, social media is the main reason why Beyonce is as famous as she is. That and the fact that there are no real all-time greats today. If you put her in the era with the all-time greats, she would get crushed in pretty much everything. She wouldn't have a chance in hell of making it into the upper echelon of fame. You can keep dreaming though.

I see Beyonce has instructed her PR team to make an aggressive push with this Beyonce=MJ agenda. Bey needs to be ashamed of herself for disrespecting the all-time greats that paved the way for her.

It's funny that as weak as this era is, Beyonce still has yet to dominate a single era as music's top star. That says a lot about her if anything.

MJ's fanbase was everyone. Beyonce audience is primarily females and gay males. And MJ birthed a lot artist who copied and swagger jacked him.. including Beyonce herself. He influenced pop culture in a way that changed it completely. Few artist have done that. To be honest as far as influence on other artist in the genre, her husband Jay had a bigger impact on the game and pop culture than she has.

Teedra Moses first album is better than anything Beyonce has put out

I love Teedra. Great voice...great songwriting & she connects very well to her audience. She’s just a great, overall artist.

One could make an argument that Rihanna have a bigger impact then beyonce.

This is true.

Mediocre dancer :mjlol:

Stop responding to these people tbh. They’re just talking out of their ass now.

In terms of dance, I developed a new appreciation for Bey’s dance style (some years ago) b/c I realized that she was mimicking band dance. However, despite this appreciation, she is still nowhere near MJ, Janet, Ciara or Aaliyah.

As I said, Bey mimics band dance and most of her moves can be found on an SU Dancing Doll line. And that’s no shade to the Dancing Dolls b/c I really enjoy them. The dance style is organic, sultry & soulful. But as an artist, you would’ve thought that Bey would enhance the band dance style in some fashion. She has not.

Overall, Bey has talent. She lacks ingenuity & depth in her music.
