Doesn't Rihanna sale more and her singing and dancing isn't anything special. Her charisma pretty much makes everyone like her. You would think Beyonce would be doing better than Rihanna if she is on MJ's level.

If MJ was at his prime in 2018 and released an album, it would sale more than any current artist out right now.

Basically. Times are different. If Beyoncé’s prime was during the same era (pre-social media), she’d be way more respected than she is now.

YUP. When MJ was out, there was no internet. Only time you saw him was on awards shows or when his videos played on tv. Dude actually had us fixed to the tv waiting when those new Pepsi commercials dropped. There is a new picture, video, or performance by Bey damm near everyday. She is definetly much more commonplace, as all stars are today. I can see why a lot of people say they sick of her. You see her all the time!! MJ? Nah. The lack of technology helped his mystique.

First of all, MJ is one of a kind. He defines pop, like say....Arnold defines bodybuilding or Bruce Lee defines martial arts. Hundreds of artists have followed his footsteps. He has universal appeal amongst both sexes and all races, worldwide. His songs are timeless, had meaning and everyone could relate.

Beyonce on the other hand, is the biggest doing it right now but she wouldnt be as big as she is if not for social media first of all. Secondly she hasnt raised the bar at all, what has she brought to the table that no one else has? What blueprint has she laid out? Wheres the innovation? Her fans, females and homosexuals. Her songs? Mostly mindless, vapid bird anthems and few will stand the test of time. Horrible comparison.

as long as she does ARENA shows though, the label is happy - but if we're comparing her to OTHER artists, you can't just throw that out of the discussion.

I saw a debate on twitter about this and somebody () seriously argued that beyonce can't be measured like that, you have to measure her by the energy and emotion she evokes
