My wife is an RN and she tells me all the time I (and men in general) should become RNs. Everybody is looking for male nurses and they're on a fast track because there are so few of them. There were only two men in her whole class. And 1 didn't end up graduating.I know I'm catching hell for this, but I'm going to school to get my BSN. My best friend and her sisters do it and make bank working 3-4 days a week. Talked to a few male nurses and they love it. At first I was like fukk being a male nurse but the money and schedule and benefits are just too good to pass up.

I would go but we already have a kid with one on the way, and too many bills for me to stop working, so i wouldn't be able to do clinicals.
Male nurses have annupper hand in the field, from what I've been told over and over. You can always get a 2 year degree, and still make bank. The only difference between an ADN(2year) and BSN(4) is with a BSN you can move up to supervisor/management etc. But I know people with a ADN who clear 75k/year. Can't lose going that route.

life is too short to major in some shyt you don't care about.
stuff i learned in social sciences is far more valuable and applicable to everyday life than any shyt STEM majors pick up. look at STEM majors try and discuss social issues or politics on here. half the time they are absolutely clueless.
This sums of my thought except experience is higher than school prestige in my view. A guy from a reputable state school with say 5 years experience will fair better in the market, for non-entry-level jobs especially, compared to a grad from MIT with no more than 1 year of experience. There are many things school can't teach.connections >>>> school prestige >> experience >> >>>>>>>>>>> major as far a finding high paying jobs. yes you need to major in engineering to to be an engineer, you don't need to be an engineer to find other high paying jobs tho
secondly, STEM interest and capabilities start well before college, if you're in underfunded/average public schools, you probably don't have access to strong stem training which puts you at a disadvantage in college. there's a reason there are so many non-profit coding academies for students of color and girls, you have to be exposed younger and younger nowadays to even start base level courses in college.
Well you won't be wiping asses as an RN (or anything higher). Those are Nurse Assistants. My mom been telling me for years I should go to school in the medical field.
It's just I really, really don't like school at all.
Or wiping asses.
True, my lady is a CNA and a CMA and she says the RNs just boss them around and don't really do shyt. The Healthcare field has a high turnover rate though.Well you won't be wiping asses as an RN (or anything higher). Those are Nurse Assistants.
Side note: It's funny to me how annoyed RNs get when CNAs call themselves nurses, lol.
