:wow: Thanks for this thread. I seriously had no idea. I knew about Chicago House obviously but that techno was founded by brothers in Detroit comes as a (pleasant) surprise.

Im sure you guys know that the history of techno actually started in Detroit and the masterminds behind it were all african-americans. Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson. These dudes pioneered one of the worlds leading genres yet it seems like americans have no idea who they are while they are very well respected over-seas. I was just curious why they dont get the love of rappers get who have had 1/2 the international influence these dudes have.

Thanks for puttin me on to these artists breh

i totally agree with you..i feel that pure edm music is souless...i can fuk with house music at times but pure edm where those no instrumentation..i avoid that ish like a plague :scustjay: it;s kind of weird because i don't mind when rap producers sample from EDM:

Slum Village - Raise it up - YouTube

Thomas Bangalter - Extra Dry (A2) - YouTube

..oh the kid is doing shuffling...lol lots of edm kids got buttburt when LMAFO took their dance and made a soft vers of it..just like we got mad when the cacs started " harlem shaking" lol "HEY THATS NOT THE REAL HARLEM SHAKE" lol

for those that dont know, bangalter is one half of daft punk.

another detroit blakc dude from the 90's and current is theo parish

in chicago, detroit and most of the major cities, black people are into it, its just usually nikkas in the south that aint on the shyt. thats pretty much how it is with most EDM tho. and sometimes its just youngsters that front on the shyt, i'm cool wit older heads (35-45) black folk, and they are all about house music and shyt. but then again i'm a dj, who plays a bit of this shyt so i see it more.

Techno - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

chi and detroit are the birth places for house and techno. then it got to germany. detroit has a big ass electronic music festival every year, and house music still runs chicago
Detroit used to be more into it.. There is a club I went to reluctantly with some white co workers... it was aight, but it answered every question about y black people aren't into it as much.

1. white people have taken it over
2. those r not our type of drugs, we smoke stuff we can chill to, not some sh1t that's gonna make us kill our dog because he looks like an alien.
3. The best white girls aren't into it. The best white girls go to regular white clubs, that play a mix of black music and top 20. (i don't date white chicks, but ijs)
3.5. Black girls, on average, think it's weird.. they don't make the hip hop connection.
4. ellie goulding goes hard, some other people do too... but those aren't people we can relate to, even if we like a song or two. Plus we don't even know what artist would even be considered the 'good' ones and not played.
5. This techno is not like Chi or Detroit house songs used to be in the80s or 90's .. with those songs there were those random ignorant lyrics we could relate to and also more bass at the right times that we could do 'foot work' to.
6. Our people have situations that make rap lyrics more appealing.
7. You will get looked at funny in white and black neighborhoods playing this in your car.
8. white people have taken it over.

Over the past year, I've been downloading all sorts of electronic shyt. I need to actually listen to it though. :troll:

I have a folder with damn near 1 TB of mp3s that I need to go through. I've had this folder on various computers since 2004. I'm working my way through it though.

LOL I remember going to this pre college program KCP and meeting some folks from Detroit who were....Jitting :heh:....sweet God we got a good laugh from that...but come to find out..

best female at jittin I ever seen - YouTube

Its pretty popular still in Detroit.

nikkas not really jittin anymore. I used to jit back in the day, i guess I can see how you thought it was funny if you weren't into house and didn't grow up with it.

People do gay ass hustles now, or some popular mainstream dances. basically they can't dance and listen to south music or corny music.
