It blows my mind that some Blacks call Techno, Disco and Rock N Roll "White Music" when Blacks created all 3. Matter of fact Blacks pioneered most if not all popular music in mainstream America. I'm cool with Techno to an extent. It gets really repetitive after a while. But some of it is cool to dance to. I've been to a Rave in College back in the day and dudes was going in on some Techno, lol.

the music doesnt really have a "groove" or "swing"

this is why i cant get into techno very much. i do like some bits of techno, just not much because of the lack of groove, for lack of a better description.

I agree with this, 99 percent of pure Techno to me, is just Soulless in the traditional sense of Soul. The people who managed to infuse that soul, and groove element to Techno were Underground Resistance, and Dave Angel(brother of Monie Love).

but lets be reality

you answered your own thread the moment you put this in higher learning

if you put this in the booth, it would've died a quick death

The black folks that are into techno (I'd like to think) are the type you'd find randomly going through H&L. They're the ones who admit to watching cartoons or just having fun in life without being super duper hard. Their the type that are cool liking what THEY like instead of liking what their community tells them to.

Liking other genres will always be weird as long as "I be in the hood always" type nikkas control the conversation of what it means to be cool.

5star thread. Please keep the music flowing. I checked on that detroit music festival. Good looking out. I already got my concert money tied into the Governor's Ball in NY in June, so I can't make this. But I'ma put it on my bucket list!
