They are leaving the church mostly because they simply dont' want to go and they don't want to follow the rules in the Bible. I don't see all of these young'ns creating Bible studies in their homes because they are just so disappointed with the prosperity gospel.

I think it’s because they don’t believe.

The church led major movements that benefited the Black community. That's no longer the case. That's probably the biggest

Brought structure too. People use to go to the church before the police. During conflicts within the community churches would intervene. Truces would be made between gangs going at it. That structure is missing. People say the Black Church preaches nonsense but the Black Church was more than just the Bible anyone that knows the true history of it would know that. I said in another thread the Black American Church is really it’s own thing and that’s the truth.

Mixed emotions...the downsides are clearly documented...it can be refined and regulated more (but thats on us, not the church exclusively) but the upsides aren't even spoken on.

Today, i can go to BLACK run churches around the nation and get shelter, food, and free consuling...as well as networking opportunities...all while being myself as myself. We do away with that, what we have to supplement that void? Liberal white benevolence?! Ha! Barbershops? No food n shelter there

Ive been to church service outside of funerals less than 5 times in my life. Im not religious in the traditional sense, so my words aint from a "oohh lawd" perspective, but we need to view shyt in a more holistic value, cause nikkas tend to forget WE AINT WHITE. They can shyt on church and completely abandon it, and it would have a marginal effect on them....but we aint in that boat.

Thats before even considering the fact that most are religious in their conduct regardless of their religious practice in the traditional sense, as its aleady been aluded to in this thread.

Talking about the white man on your off time and working for him on your own time is a religion in and of itself, but ill digress

White people not even believing in God like that and still know the importance of a church in the community. Churches are the mediators whether people like it or not. It’s a reason why politicians till this day will walk right by 300 black folks on the corner just to talk to 100 people in the black church. It’s a reason why we got more done as a community back then than we will ever get done now.

Not even Orthodox? If you don't mind me asking, what do you subscribe closest to? For me, I line up more to Judaism.
I'm not a religious person. But if for some reason I gave up on rational thinking and was forced to choose between Judaism and Christianity I'd choose Christianity in a heartbeat.

The main reason why most civilized and empathic people dislike Christianity is because of the fact that it comes packaged along with the old testament (which promoted racism, slavery, child rape and murder... The Old Testament and The Quran are pretty much sibling books in that regard...hateful dude in the sky killing people)

Then along comes this peaceful hippy preaching about peace, love and unity. Basically the exact opposite of what the childish/jealous/murderous God of the Old testament promoted.

If Christianity only consisted of the new testament it would pretty much be a remixed version of Buddhism and there'd be less people criticizing it as much.

It's just odd to me how someone could identify with a book/religion like that and profess it proudly.

Or it could be that the church doesn't relate to the Black community anymore. Also, those same churches sold them out for White approval. Let's not forget that these churches don't teach orthodoxy or keep dietary law. Then, we have the whole tax exemption status.

Not every church gets tax exemption status. That’s a lie thrown out there by the hotep hustlers. The fact of the matter is the black community went downhill when more people left the church. People won’t realize how important the church was before it’s too late. You think politicians ain’t hearing black folks out now wait till the churches leave our community. Every other group don’t give the churches within their community such a hard time like we do. We don’t understand how building a community works and what huge roles churches play in that development. A lot of these people are so anti black church with NO solutions or answers if the black church ends. People really don’t know the history of it if they did they’d know it’s way more than just church.
