Pretty much. This thread is terrible judging by the first page

ol, "bu-bu-bb-but were not the only ones" with self hate issues ass nikkas
Japanese love the Germans. As seen in many of their animes referencing them.

Germans had Hitler who the Japanese supported during his reign.

Axis powers and the japanese support is their history so of course it would of affected them and their view.

Blue eyes and blond hair = what Hitler wanted

Not to mention many anime have anti-American references here and there.

A lot the time they'll even illustrate military uniforms reminiscent of those worn by Nazi officers.

Speaking of Bleach...

You telling me both these characters are supposed to be Asian :what:?

:mjpls: Notice that in most cases it's characters with Chinese names that actually tend to look Asian. I wonder why that is.

Repost Bump.

And to add on to that post I stand corrected its not just the west.

What the Japanese specifically are idolizing with them mixing in non japanese eyes, blond hair and blue eyes into some of their anime characters who are supposed to be japanese are actually the Germans even the Nazi era ones to be specific.

Top character looks Asian (to me) bottom character looks white but is bleach a good source considering Kubo includes different races in his manga :patrice:, the best example in here was Sailor Moon none of them chicks look Asian.

IT HAS A NAME!!!

mukokuseki -- the anime style of drawing characters with ambiguous racial features

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Mukokuseki
Thanks and also said in that same link:

On the other end of the spectrum from the Sailor Moon example, the creator of Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto, went on record saying he was happy Naruto was designed with blond spikey hair because after the series went international it made the character more relatable to western audiences. He later stated that for a live action version, they'd need to cast a white American actor to play Naruto (despite him being ethnically Japanese) to ensure a good likeness, so he's sticking with his story.
