Actually I wouldn't have difficulty doing this at all.
I think I explained that this is considered beautiful
by many people in Japan and it has little do with wanting to be
foreign, or wanting to become a white person.
http://blog.studyabroad.wisc.edu/archives/7760 <--- Here's a link
to a blog post from a girl IN JAPAN.

Another blog post from a guy actually in Japan.
Another opinion piece from someone who is actually, ya' know asian
http://clossette.com/double-eyelids-why-do-we-continue-to-make-them-a-standard-of-asian-beauty/
They have their own standards of beauty which aren't
to be confused with wanting to be "white people".
That said THEY CAN AND DO admire certain features of people
who are not Japanese, just as people from America can love the look
of someone who is Asian or Indian or Hispanic or Black, while still maintaining
their own cultural identity.
You're looking at this from an American perspective, it's not the same
as buying fake hair or buying skin bleaching products to look more "white",
they're aspiring to an Asian ideal and their art reflects that.
