Expectations too high for what common reality actually is in this country.

And if you want to actually REACH those high expectations/American dream shyt you're fed from birth, unless you're born into it, you have to work your ass off and essentially become a sociopath to get there, so you end up miserable anyway.

TBH I think American culture is DESIGNED to make the average citizen depressed, so that they'll just accept working for other people.

And then there's the nutrition angle. The food here is shyt, everyone is eating processed garbage since they were little kids, and the whole country is obese. Even when I was hella broke, I wasn't even THAT sad because I was in great physical shape. Then I started getting some real paper, but I let my physical health deteriorate somewhat, and I actually felt worse. :yeshrug:

Because Americans practice so much iniquity. They do understand the spiritual implications of their behavior. :francis: They can't make the connection between their "mental health" and the evil they practice and harbor. :wow:

"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." - Matthew 24:12 :wow:

I really don't understand the dichotomy of being rich and miserable. Bet none of these rich fukks would trade places if it meant happiness...:stopitslime:

I've been broke all my life trust me there's nothing happy about that shyt... :coffee: they need to be thankful they have money to do whatever they wanted, they have freedoms most of us will never have... and they STILL miserable about it...:snoop:smfh

You keep using this excuse. No one own shyt in the UK. Neither the blacks or the whites...its been that way since the Norman conquest damn near a thousand years ago. The land had been and always will be tied up among the small clique of the white elite.

Outside of this...blacks have had a presence here for what? 50-60 years? Of course there won't be a major foothold of black business here. And I partially put that on blacks coming here and not exploiting opportunities or practicing group economics like some of the other demographics do. But even beside the obvious racism here...it simply lacks the disgusting over exposure that it has in the states. If a few black business owners (who often end up getting benefactors outside of the black community) is the prize for being the virulently anti black country in the western hemisphere then maybe one should reassess priorities.

That didn't answer my question.
If you or your family doesn't own a house where you live, you can't claim shyt..or brag about anything.
Both of my parents and all of their siblings own homes...and land. Some own multiple homes.
Both of their parents were home owners.
Property on both sides.
Ya'll don't exist to us outside of the internet. When I exit this tab, the relevance of UK blacks exits along with it. I'm all in your DNA, tho.
Stop saying "y'all" and speak in your own whitewashed yardie dialect, "bruv".
Seen?

First of all, great thread.

As a person who has dealt with severe depression, I can say:

1. The bullshyt story of the American dream, when the reality is that most Americans are busting their ass for crumbs
2. Everything about how sexuality is viewed here... i.e., constant bombardment of sexual imagery, while simultaneously making sex taboo
3. The feminist/hypergamous mating structure,
4. Instant gratification and dopamine overdose
5. Colonialism / White Supremacy / Racial Identities

Oh yeah... and I forgot to add.... the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.)

Toxic food is a HUGE component of American depression, as well as the toxic drugs pushed by so-called doctors and the pharmaceutical industry. This is why food and drugs are under the same government agency (FDA). It's all toxic bullshyt they're pumping into people's bodies.

I don't know. maybe because they don't like to try out new things and just be happy. Americans like to complicate life because they are so bored

I only know black life and my neighborhood

1.. no jobs

2. If u have a job, you working 24 hours a day because the pay isn't enough to keep everything on

3.. no job or low paying job brings stress and health problems and then u can't afford medical treatment

A lot of these instagram and social media pages people especially us black folks put out there is to hide the pain what's going on in real life..

When I bust my ass 24/7 and some cac named Connor is able to coast through life without breaking a sweat

How black people don't have higher rates of depression is just a testament to how great we are as a people

Off tangent I apologize

No we have it... But we good at hiding it behind liquor and cigarettes

I think that wealth might bring another set of stresses, because now you are stressed about how to keep it; when you know that a lot of crooked ass people (business promoters, bankers, lawyers, accountants, stock brokers) are all out to get it. Basically you are a marked man and you have no clue who is coming at you to get it.

To me it is all a chase for vanity. I think that it is a sickness to see people accumulating hundreds of millions and billions of dollars. Why do they need so much money? Why does a person need six cars, when they can only drive one car at a time? Why does a person need five homes, when they can only live in one house at a time. A lot of Americans have a twisted and perverted value system where greed is admired trait, but being poor is frowned upon. When greed is held as a valued trait then people will do anything; and I mean anything to get money and that is when the town idiot clown fool like Donald Trump is admired by millions of people. Greed is the reason behind most of the atrocities in the Americas (slavery, murder of natives, etc) and even now the people that benefited from it find no happiness.

When you are poor nobody marks you. In fact they don't want your broke ass around, because you can not do anything for them. It is in your poverty that GOD gave you something that can not even have a value put on it: Peace of mind.
