Another thing I noticed is happiness seems to be subjective. Wealth doesn't automatically bring happiness believe it or not because if that's the case then why don't these people just fade the black and enjoy their wealth? Take Floyd for example. Floyd has money, cars, homes, gorgeous women, accolades, and access to every place all over the globe. BUT yet he's taking on another fight. At this point how much money do you need? Is it because he's bored? Is he depressed? Floyd has enough money to retire have himself and his future grandkids straight for life but he's taking another fight? That speaks volumes too

I went through a depression spell in my 20s. I still don't know why I was so depressed. I didn't like my job, didn't have the best luck with women and I just wasnt doing what I loved. What's strange is, I stopped being depressed still working the same job, still not finding the right woman and still not doing anything I really loved outside of my hobbies.

Now that I have kids I don't have time to be depressed but boredom has really taken it's place.

Does Religion Cause Depression?

What is the relationship between religious involvement and depression? In an earlier column I discussed the role of religion in coping with loss, trauma, and disability. But, does turning to religion result in better coping and protection from depression or result in faster recovery from depression? This is a question that I’ve been studying for almost 25 years, especially among those with chronic medical problems and disabling illnesses that truly challenge a person’s coping abilities. We have studied almost 2,000 hospitalized medical patients, measuring their religious involvement, their coping ability, and their level of depression. Every one of these studies found that religious involvement was related to lower rates of depression or faster recovery from depression.

Harold G. Koenig, MD, MHSc., completed his undergraduate education at Stanford University, his medical school training at the University of California at San Francisco, and his geriatric medicine, psychiatry, and biostatistics training at Duke University Medical Center. He is board certified in general psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry and geriatric medicine, and is on the faculty at Duke as Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and Associate Professor of Medicine, and is on the faculty at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as a Distinguished Adjunct Professor. He is also a registered nurse. Dr. Koenig is Director of the Center for Spirituality, Theology and Health at Duke University Medical Center, and is considered by biomedical scientists as one of the world's top experts on religion and health.

Oh yeah... and I forgot to add.... the Standard American Diet (S.A.D.)

Toxic food is a HUGE component of American depression, as well as the toxic drugs pushed by so-called doctors and the pharmaceutical industry. This is why food and drugs are under the same government agency (FDA). It's all toxic bullshyt they're pumping into people's bodies.

And it doesn't help that all the healthy shyt, the food we're supposed to be eating, REAL food (i.e. fruits and veggies), is expensive as fukk (at least for your average, everyday dude)

Americans as a whole are extremely emotional, sedated, infantilized, and mentally stunted. The average American 30 year old acts half their age. I'm sure that has some kind of an effect on the way that they're able to deal with life. It's like chaining up a lion from birth to the point where he becomes an atrophied caricature of the animal that he's supposed to be and then letting him out into the wild.
