A lot of reasons/questions:

  • 1800 seems low period
  • Nutrition seems to be lacking enough dietary fat
  • What do your workouts consist of?
  • Also if you aren’t weighing on a consistent schedule you are chasing your tail. You could have lost weight and these are water weight changes that will even out later

You Probably Put On Some Muscle, If You’re Focusing On Strictly Slimming Down Focus On Cardio For Awhile, You’d Be Down About 7-8lbs Lbs By Now

-should I stick with the 1800 or up it slowly to 1900, or just flat out up it to 2200?

- I’ll add more dietary fat

- this is the work out I’m doing

When I’m not doing that I’m doing the couch to 5k program for cardio

- I was going to wait until August 4th (1 month mark) to weigh in, but I got eager

Building muscle in 12 days on 1800 cals

Come on guise
It might be difficult it it’s not impossible. Especially if he’s jsut introducing his body to gym.

That’s why I was picking you brain in another thread about putting on muscle without overly gaining fat. I was was putting on muscle and losing fat at the same time. Got it confirmed by my job’s biometric fit group.

Everybody body is different

I’m not saying it’s not possible. It’s unlikely but not impossible.

Key points being:
  • We really don’t have any data to know why. Suggesting it was weight gain is a big maybe.
  • I’m not saying you can’t gain muscle and lose fat but for the average newbie it’s a waste of time. They can hardly track calories so how are they going to monitor a body recomp....... If you got access to that type of equipment sure.
Overall we just have to boil all of these down to the simple factors when someone is running in road blocks.

My fault if it came across as not helpful. That’s my main goal in here

@Nuke Dukem maybe you should look into incorporating some intermittent fasten to your lifestyle. That’s almost guaranteed to drop pounds

Should I change anything (up my calories) or keep doing what I’m doing..

I use to do noon-8pm eat but I work a physical job early in the morning and I feel better having something

THIS. i am currently doing OMAD (ONE MEAL A DAY), so i am essentially fasting 24 hours per day.

I only consume veggies like spinach and broccoli, and a protein that i bake at home. Such as chicken or fish. And i only do cardio, but i do over a hour of cardio daily. The most steps ive done in one day is 28,000.

i am down close to 12 pounds in about a week.

I drink LOTS of water to curb my hunger and its been working well

I'd say it could be water weight fluctuations. This is very true if you eat salty foods. That will have you retaining a lot of water. You need to weigh yourself more frequently to get better data and drown out the noise.

That's the most important part right now. We don't have anything to measure against.

I could easily see where you aren't eating a enough or you have too much activity
  • 4-5 full body lifting
  • Couch to 5K
  • Physical job
