Ok so if you are a middle or lower of the road team and had to pick between Manning and Brady who would you pick? I bet 8 out of 10 gm's would say peyton.

Manning is the better regular season QB but Brady is OBVIOUSLY the better QB overall. Manning has choked year after year..Even the year he got his ring, he played weak in the Super Bowl. Hell, doesn't he have a losing playoff record? Not a close comparison IMO.

I'm on the fence on this one. Peyton has always had a great tight end, a good slot receiver and great deep threat receiver.
Although i can also say that if Peyton had Gronk, Hernandez, Welker and Lloyd....:mindblown:

At this point they are basically the same guy. Only differences are the circumstances under which they began their careers.

NEW ERA
Brady better QB and better career

lets look at numbers:

Collectively:

Peyton Manning: 57,803 yards, 423 TD's, 205 INT's
Tom Brady: 42,955 yards, 321 TD's, 118 INT's

on a per game basis:

Peyton Manning: 265 yards/game, 2.1 TD:INT ratio (218 games total, 218 games started)
Tom Brady: 252 yards/game, 2.7 TD:INT ratio (171 games total, 169 games started)

So Brady clearly has him beat on TD:INT ration while trailing just a little beat in the yards per game department, on a per game basis. Scoring more points (TD's) >>> Yards

Let's take some things into account. For 14 years, Peyton Manning had the luxury of playing majority (MORE THAN HALF) of his games in a climate-controlled dome. I think we can all agree that this factor, without a doubt, helps the passing game of teams. Conversely, in dome games, Brady's stats are:

Street Knowledge said:
Brady Indoors (12-2 record)*
70% completion percentage, 4298 yards (307 yards/game) , 38 touchdowns (2.7 touchdowns/game), 10 interceptions (0.7 interceptions/game)

Now let's extrapolate that to over 60% of his games played in his career (102 games played). Brady's numbers in domes would look like:

70% completion %, 31,314 yards, 275 TD's, 71 INT's

Again, I'm using 60% games played in a dome because 8 home games plus traveling to teams that also play in domes. it's a guesstimate. I'm not sure of Peyton's numbers in a dome, but I can almost guarantee that Brady's numbers are better under the same conditions

Now let's talk about the talent factor. Up until 2007, Brady's best offensive weapon ever was Deion Branch. Deion Branch won't even be a footnote in the NFL history books. in fact, he just got released again before this past Sunday. In 2007, we all know Brady was blessed with the greatest football player ever in Randy Moss. in result? Virtually every offensive statistic fell that season and is now owned by the 2007 Patriots. Other than this magical year, Belicheck had a history of pairing Brady up with what most would call bums. Bethel Johnson, David Givens, David Patten, Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney, etc

Peyton on the other hand has been blessed with 1st round talent after 1st round talent. Let's review: Marshall Faulk, Edge James, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, and Joseph Addai are the most noticeable names

In short review, despite playing with better talent throughout his career, and playing in the benefits of a dome as opposed to Northeast U.S. weather, Manning has not put up better per game statistics than Brady. Brady has done more with less/done better with more handicaps

Now let's move on to the playoffs. No discussion here really. The argument is clearly in Brady's favor. you can argue Adam Vinitieri, the defense, etc, all you want, but at the end of the day, if 3 points is all you need for a win, why force for a touchdown? If a touchdown was needed to win, there's no doubt in my mind that Brady would have gotten it done, as we've seen ever so often in his illustrious career. Brady also holds numerous playoff records including best completion percentage, etc

Manning on the other hand has a history of flopping terribly in the playoffs, even after securing #1 seed after #1 seed. many blame it on the defense. fine, but the defense also aren't the ones throwing pick 6's or having playoff games that don't match the production produced in the regular season. Ironically, it was his defense that carried him throughout the playoffs in his only SB win (he went 3TD's vs 7 INT's that playoff run), and ironically in his second trip to the SB, he threw a gift to Tracy Porter to seal the Saints' first SB in their history. Very Brett Favre-like.

Peyton Manning led teams have a LOSING RECORD in the playoffs. He's been one-and-done 8 (EIGHT) TIMES in his career, much of which were after achieving #1 seed status

all this is very telling. in my humble, Brady has been the better quarterback since the 2005 season. 3 SB rings, 5 appearances, no signs of slowing down, and he still has the edge vs Manning in head to head matchups

simply put, Brady > Manning

The only thing Manning has over Tom is better bulk stats, but that's mostly because he played 3 more seasons. Brady has better numbers on a game to game basis, season to season basis, and his best year(07)>Peyton's best(04). All these were taken by the end of last year

Brady Per Game: 22-33, 251 yards, 1.9 TD, 0.7 INT
Manning Per Game: 22-34, 264 yards, 1.9 TD, 1 INT

Regular Season
Tom Brady (124-35 career record, 78%) 35 game winning drives (One every 4.5 starts)

Peyton Manning (141-67 career record, 66%) 44 game winning drives (One every 4.7 starts)

Postseason

Tom Brady: 22 games (16-6 record)
499-793 (63%), 5285 yards, 38 TD, 20 INT
Per game: 23-36, 240 yards, 1.7 TD, 0.9 INT

Peyton Manning: 19 games (9-10 record)
453-718 (63%), 5389 yards, 29 TD, 19 INT
Per game: 24-38, 283 yards, 1.5 TD, 1.0 INT

Brady throws more TD's and less picks on average in the playoffs. He's better there too. And the defenses have been Comaprable

Defense

Colts (19 games) 397 points allowed (21 ppg allowed) 90 of which came off of Manning INTs, 23%, 5 points per game), 35 turnovers forced (2 TO forced per game)

Patriots (22 games) 421 points allowed (19 ppg allowed) 43 of which came off of Brady INTs, 10%, 2 points per game), 44 turnovers forced (2 TO forced per game)

I don't see Peyton's argument except that he flaps his arms:russ:. Brady even runs better offenses then Manning(07' Pats best ever)

Tom Brady, Patriots, 2007
Regular season (16-0): 398 of 578, 68.9%, 4,806 yards, 8.3 YPA, 50 TD, 8 INT, 117.2 passer rating

Peyton Manning, Colts, 2004
Regular season (12-4): 336 of 497, 67.6%, 4,557 yards, 9.2 YPA, 49 TD, 10 INT, 121.1 rating

:pachaha: The FIRST year Brady got serious weapons, he literally blew the doors off Peyton's best season.(Still the second best season a QB's ever had)

More yards, more TD's, less picks, higher Completion percentage, Perfect record, and the GOAT offense:manny:

I'm pretty sure had Peyton played the last game of the season he'd have more yards and more TD's. His rating is already higher. Peyton was a surgeon that season and he got those stats without trying to run up the score on everyone like the Pats were. That 04 season of Peyton's was better than Tom's 07 season as far as QB play goes

You sound like a Fox news contributor repeating talking points lol. "Peyton was a surgeon." He wasn't trying to "run the score up." Get out of here. Peyton Manning during that year also had Edge in his prime rushing for 1500 yards.

He was throwing a bunch of touchdowns near the endzone despite that. As for "he would have more yards and TDs," that makes Blazo's point. Look at the conditions Brady played in. The very reason Brady didn't break that record at home was because of the storm in New England. But some how magically vs. a Giants team in a dome the last game of the season, he was back to beast mode :gladbron:

Stop it.
