The Beijing Ducks, FC Barca hoops, Baskets Bonn, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Al Ahly, should openly challenge the nuggets to a game for the title of world champion. Shame them into a game...because, until then they're not REALLY the best in the world, right?

do you think that the nba team would be scared of that? Or that they would LOSE????
No I don’t. But that’s the only way you should be able to call yourselves the champions of the world if you compete against other teams in the world. Btw, they do have something similar to that in soccer.

Lyles is right, I love that NBA players and fans are triggered over this :pachaha:
This shyt is AMAZING to watch in real time, lol.. This is masterclass in increasing engagement.

NBC yesterday put up a graphic on last day of championship of most followed track athletes, Sha carri was at like 2.7 mili, Noah Lyles wasnt even on the graphic.. It made me go look at his IG and he was at low 400k somewhere. Right now he is at 477k and growing.. It didnt make sense for one of their top athletes and basically face of sport at moment to not be more visible. This is good overall. Hopefully they can get some commercials or something out of it and make it a big deal, have him courtside on christmas game or something..

If you win the NBA title you proved you were the best team in the world

Like I said if y’all want to see them beat up on foreign squads just to prove a point then that’s fine :manny:

No what it shows objectively is that you were/are the best team in USA. Anything else is pure speculation

Let’s get the Nuggets to play the best Euroleague team

I’m tryna see a massacre

It happened before, the McDonalds Tournament. Obviously was treated as what it was, an offseason tournament with no real reward. Unfortunately it was scrapped before the big influx of international players. Would be interesting to see how something similar would work nowadays.

Ironically in this case the NBA Champ would already be led by two international players in Jokic and Murray.

Kinda case in point being the NBA is home to the best basketball players in the world

It's very simple
The whole point of sports competition is to compete for titles and therefore prove your superiority and earn your title as the best

The only way for nba champions to claim world champion title credibly is to compete in an international tournament and win it

There's no two ways about it:yeshrug:

Now the USA men's basketball team can lay such claim as they are the reigning olympic (international tournament) gold medalist, denver nuggets on the otherhand are nothing more than domestic/nba champs

True, but that's not the point of what he's saying. And also we've seen how some of the best players in the NBA don't necessarily see their game translate well on the world stage, and how others see their production increase on the contrary. For an obvious reason : the game is played and refereed differently.
