I see what he’s saying, but it’d make more sense if he mentioned the NFL, but I digress, he got what he wanted out of this whole thing which is engagement. The debates are funny and it creates convo, just funny to me is all.

The confusing part is why he specifically named the NBA, and not the other leagues. American football isn’t even played in other countries like that, but the Super Bowl winner is called the “world champs.” He actually said “the SADDEST part of all this…”

The whole point of sports competition is to compete for titles and therefore prove your superiority and earn your title as the best
The only way for nba champions to claim world champion title credibly is to compete in an international tournament and win it
There's no two ways about it
Now the USA men's basketball team can lay such claim as they are the reigning olympic (international tournament) gold medalist, denver nuggets on the otherhand are nothing more than domestic/nba champs

We all know the best team in the NBA/NFL is the best team in the world and we all know no team outside the US stands a chance in a playoff format. Folks just get in their feelings about people saying the quiet part out loud
