We know this because they all play each other. That is Lyles' point.

NBA teams dust foreign teams regularly in preseason games when they’re coasting and playing their 3rd stringers and two way guys. What do you think will happen if they take it seriously as a playoff game?

What are we doing here? This isn’t soccer

1) We don't know the quality of the teams those international teams put out there. We don't know because its also preseason for those international teams and none of us follow international club basketball that closely.
2) The NBA team would win.
3) That is not Lyle's point.

Lyle's point is put them in a tournament together and let them play in a competition. The NBA teams would always win, no doubt, but why not try it? In 1996, we thought USA NBA players would never lose in international competition, and that isn't the case anymore.

Show me when the Spanish league instituted a worldwide draft of all of the best players. Close webmd and show me the date of that draft
:snoop: They don’t do drafts in footy (that’s an American thing).

They buy players & Real Madrid bought most of the best footballers in the world to form the Galacticos. There was a time Italian league also dominated in the 90s by doing the same thing. And today, it’s the EPL with the influx of Arab & American billionaires as owners.

A lot of you Americans always think the world revolves around your arses (pause). Some of you used to do this crap in boxing with Wilder aka one-trick pony (who’s yet to beat anyone with a pulse) with lousy talks about how he’s the best in the world & would kill everyone in the ring. You didn’t stop that shyt until the fat gypo from Manchester who had been on a 2-yr drugs/alcohol binge beat that nikka like a thief. And even with that - you still pull excuses out of your arses.

Team sport a lot of times isn’t even about talent accumulation - it’s about cohesion, coaching & playing hard. You lot have the NCAA basketball tournament in your country where the most talented teams always come up short. So, if you don’t lack self-awareness - why would anyone draw up hypothetical conclusions that the best NBA team would beat the best European team without them playing against each other?

With all the talents Duke & Kentucky accumulate every year - when was the last time either team won the NCAA tournament? Your answer should tell you why you can’t call yourself ‘World Champ’ without competing with others.

Back in 1996 Team USA was always sending dream teams to those tournaments, that’s not the case anymore as you can see by the roster of the current squad. Star players no long care as much about playing for Team USA.

If they want to create a Club World Cup, that’s fine. But I don’t see anything to gain for NBA teams.

I find it funny that some of the championship banners in the league either say NBA Champions or World Champions

And I’m the one with mental illness lol. You’re speaking of a sport and system you have no idea about. Stay in the soccer thread, you’re far out of your depth here

He’s pretending that if 5 NBA teams moved overseas with the same roster that it would somehow be more legitimate. What he knows is academies, farm systems both of which has nothing to do with the NBA. Every point comes back to there’s a worldwide draft of the best players 18-22 that doesn’t exist in the sport he knows

The best players in soccer play in England too...you don't hear Man city calling themselves "world champions" 🤣🤣
Dumb post. The best soccer players are spread all across Europe and the World.

Meanwhile the best basketball players are all congregated in the NBA. It's literally the toughest league in sports to make lol.
