You believe if the LA Clippers happened to have a team in Mexico City and Memphis had a team in Vancouver with the exact same rosters that the accomplishments of the teams somehow would have more gravitas. How does that make any sense?
You need stop. You don’t understand what we are discussing. :russ:

Says a narcissist with mental disorder. :russ:

I don’t think you know what inferiority complex is. People on the thread with a better worldview are just pointing out the inherent American ignorance & narcissistic trait.

Sport is mostly about competition & entertainment is the perk you get with it. However, with Americans - it’s mostly about entertainment & competition is secondary. Hence people in other climes are more passionate about sports than the average American. And the beauty of competition is that - you’ll have to prove it before you crown yourself - not some hypothetical scenario you created in your head cos upsets happen all the time & that’s beauty of sports.

There was a time when the Spanish football league had all the best footballers in the world from different countries (more lopsided than the EPL today) - with about 70% of them playing for Real Madrid’s Galacticos & the rest played for Barcelona. The only other player with a shout back then was probably ‘Mendieta’ & he played in the Spanish league as well for Valencia. But they never labelled the Spanish league winners as ‘World Champions’ or even ‘European Champions’ & they still had to compete with obscured teams from Belarus & Scotland to become European champs. And after achieving that - they had to compete with teams from North America & Africa to become world champs.

On any given day: any team can be beaten regardless of how star-studded it’s. That’s the beauty of sports. In football, we’ve seen one-man teams like Bayern Leverkusen & Valencia shock the world. Shyt, it happens in the English FA cup a lot hence the NBA just copied the English FA cup format for its in-season tournament.

Also, didn’t Japan just beat MLB allstars in baseball? Oh well, that tells all you need to know about what sports entail. You can’t sit in your coc00n & declare yourself as ‘World Champs’. It’s narcissistic, arrogant & a borderline symptom of mental illness.

Japan beat MLB all stars in an exhibition series where the best players were all limited by their MLB teams. If the Boston Celtics became the Dublin Celtics, would they replace anyone on their roster with an Irish player? What would be the material difference that the franchise relocation provide? Do you know what a sports franchise is?

Show me when the Spanish league instituted a worldwide draft of all of the best players. Close webmd and show me the date of that draft

The best players in the world are in the NBA. So the NBA champions are the World Champions. They just happen to play the games on US soil. No team outside the NBA is beating the best NBA team in a best of 7 series

Most of The best soccer players in the world play in Europe and during the Champions League.

They don’t call themselves world champions because they have only played teams in Europe.

I think the SEC has won the football national title 12 out of the last 16 seasons. Is the winner of the SEC automatically the national champion?

It’s not rocket science. American sports fans can’t understand something we been indoctrinated to believe. Lyles didn’t deny the strength of the league, just that it can’t call itself the world championships.

The gap between the best teams in the SEC and the best teams in the rest of the FBS is nowhere near as large as the gap between the best of the NBA and the best in Europe. Nowhere close.

A better comparison would be telling Georgia they can’t call themselves the national champions unless they also beat the FCS and D2 champions. But we don’t do that because we know it’s a waste of everyone’s time

Argentina won the fifa world cup, they are world champions simple as that, how does Denver winning the NBA title = they are the best team in the world ? Aren't Spain the current FIBA world champions??? Isn't Spain the best basketball team in the world ?

Do you watch basketball?

The only reason other countries are able to win the world cup is because American players don’t care to participate. If the best American players showed up every tournament they’re smoking everyone. There’s a reason why for decades FIBA wouldn’t let NBA players play but let pros from other countries
