I see what you're saying but I can't agree that there is anyone out there that could knock him off in a primary.

Even the preliminary polling for 2024 with him included shows him as a favorite

People who would run in 2024 are already kneeling to him right now (Hawley, Scott...)
i feel you.... but 2024 is still four years away... few people saw obama winning the 2008 primary race back in 2004.... there's plenty of time for a new personality to emerge...

i'd agree with you 100% if trump carried arizona and georgia... trump could be forgiven for not being able to carry dem leaning states like wi, mi, and pa... however, losing arizona and georgia....? shyt shouldn't have even been close enough for biden to win.... there's only two ways to look at that... either the republican voters turned on trump or the republican establishment turned on trump and went along with the "rigging" of the election... if trump was even a decent republican president, why would either have happened...? it's devastating.....

either way you look at it, trump turned off enough republicans to lose the election and he's doubling down on what turned them off.... he's shrinking his share of the electorate and not giving it a second thought.... i just don't see him coming back from that....

It doesn’t matter for a primary

He is the most popular figure. And the GOP primaries are winner take all by and large.

It’s a question of if he will just walk into the primary without challenge.

I get the feeling he doesn’t actually want to stand on stages talking about his term and Republicans don’t want to either

If it wasn't for the pandemic, he would've won easily. If he wanted to, he could run on pre-covid

i'm sorry, i can't see it.... ... .. .:. as long as there are republican operatives that believe trump can't win in 2024 and there most certainly will be many of them, someone will challenge trump and make a big deal out of him not being able to win reelection.... people don't just want to vote for someone they agree with, they want to vote for someone who can win... trump will be older and sicker and will have a terrible record he has to run on... he also got beat by 7 million votes... it ain't happening... trump is toast....

Not really. Outside of the judges he’s just going to rehash grievances about impeachment and Mueller.

And what would a GOP nominee attack him for? The deficit, not getting rid of Obamacare, not building the wall, losing the house majority, the protest? All of which they themselves were silent or abided.

It’s crap on both sides

I'm saying if he were to run in the general.

The primary would be a cake walk for him

I just don’t see it unless Biden tanks

The last memory of him is a loser who can’t accept losing in a pandemic

Nostalgia only works if people want to go back

He still got 74M votes as a piece of shyt, doubt he's changing many votes based off his behavior now. To them, he was cheated not that he lost.

It's not like he was a statesman before. This was expected.

That's my point. He's maxed out at 74ish. We know now that there are 8 million votes he doesn't have access to but the Dems do.

It would be like a coach knowing his player Trump can only score 62-74 points. That might be enough to win if you opponent can't score anywhere from 75-81plus points which they have done recently. GOP already played Trump twice now. He ain't winning the vote totals so it's really dangerous to put someone up who has been rejected and expect him to do better.

Now if the Dems tank it's up for grabs.

That would be true if the election was a popular vote contest.

But it isn't with the electoral college with the margins on the swing states being so close that he could plausibly win again in 2024.

He won in 2016, so he's proven that he can do it.

2016 is like the first time your body is introduced to a virus it’s never seen before and doesn’t recognize it and doesn’t release the antibodies.

2020 is when it’s seen it again and knows what it’s about. 2024 would be the same. Now if the Dems wreck the body in 4 years yeah it might mess you up but it’s not because of 2016.

But the popular vote points to his large dislike by the population. He’s not gaining popularity. It’s about the Dems losing support.

He lost two GOP strongholds.
