What this gotta do with prime? Because no one could hit the guy clean...he was so unstoppable they wanted him to fight fukking 250lb Lennox Lewis..lol

You out Floyd and Roy in their primes in the same weight division, Floyd gets absolutely eradicated. Not fast enough and his defense has never dealt with a Roy Jones. Those jabs to the body? He's fast enough to land on Roy or skilled enough..he can't set traps on him and Roy's combinations would have him legitimately running for his life. But the same thing would happen if Roy faced Andre Ward at 168..GGG? He would lit up and knocked down over and over again. Canelo? He would get punished, humiliated, and would quit.
In their "primes" floyd was more skillful than roy:gucci: quit confusing physical gifts with skill, as soon as roy lost a step he was forced to

as soon as roy lost a step
roy moved up way past his best weight, put on a lot of muscle, took off a lot of muscle, and basically became immobile; you do that to any fighter, and he will become a completely different fighter. as far as skills, prime for prime, nobody got hit less than roy jones - including floyd mayweather.

I hate threads like this. I hate when people mention athleticism and RJJ. RJJ was extremely skilled, you can’t do the things he did in the ring without having an incredible amount of skill and IQ. You have to have solid fundamentals to do what RJJ did, at your core. He wasn’t just doing random moves out of “athleticism”.

It’s like saying Jordan and Kobe were just athletic.

:gucci:WHO FAULT IS THAT? Roy skills are nowhere near floyd's, Roy's defense completely centered around his agility:mjtf:, while Floyd's was coached, mechanized off of routine and hand placement:unimpressed:, oh and floyd moved up 5 weight classes to Roy's 4
as far as skills, prime for prime, nobody got hit less than roy jones - including floyd mayweather.
:mjtf: \who was hit more/less:gucci: cuz floyd's resume shyts on Roy's - And roy has toney and bhop on his shyt - roy doesnt even have good mechanics defensively, you can still put your hands up so you dont get slept, talking about "immobile":mjlol:

Maybe Roy got hit less because he fought

Otis Grant
Richard Frazier
Reggie Johnson
David Telesco
Richard Hall
Eric Harding
Derrick Harmon

In a fukking Row :mjlol::bryan:

Reggie Johnson legit dropped & hurt a prime James Toney & lost in a close fight. He also gave Tarver a close fight loss & damn near beat him. Eric Harding beat Tarvers ass the first time around that won the eliminator to face Roy for that title shot. And Harmon beat Glen Johnson if I remember & that's just off the top. It's not nearly as bad as you're saying Choc lol

Roy was a gifted athlete with super reflexes and power.
Floyd was a pure textbook boxer and one of the greatest defensive master's ever! Floyd hands down as skill and IQ.

That's all it is. No need to really debate any further. Roy was a super talent, the most talented Boxer ever. He freestyled in the ring, he was hard to prepare for because he didn't really have a particular style, would just do whatever "came to him" then add his freakish reflexes and speed and it's easy to see why he was untouchable in his prime (even though he could have fought a bit better competition) While Floyd is the opposite. He had all time great talent and elite reflexes himself but everything was rehearsed, double rehearsed, triple rehearsed and on top of that he's the most brilliant in the ring adjuster of all time. Roy didn't adjust that well, but then again he didn't need to. If Roy were a basketball player he'd be Allen Iverson. Floyd would be closer to a Kobe Bryant/Lebron Hybrid.

great as floyd was defensively, he still had those rough fights with guys like emanuel augustus or demarcus corley. he got hit a little more than roy, and i think the difference would be that, floyd made guys miss, but roy made guys scared to throw. that takes a lot of skill itself.

Can't forget how much he got touched in the first fight with JLC too
