First off...... You need to establish what you're talking about

Now if we are taking pics and showing it to random people on the street and asking "who is this"

I definitely think it's hulk and ironman

Hulk cause he's easy as fukk to identify, been on tv since the 70s, and is still most people favs in the new movies

Ironman cause he's had about 5 films now. And unless you don't have a damn tv. You've seen him and know his simple name easily

Joker too if we counting villains

Now if you talking strictly comics, and comic book fans, i have no clue

:jbhmm: joker's a good choice, actually.

1. Because it's a hot girl playing wonderwoman I.e., sex appeal
2. The movie was already shyt and she played the best role and was a great fighter
3. NO ONE liked the idea of Ben Affleck before the movie while Cavill was an indecisive emo

She saved that movie because it was poorly put together, plus they have to give her a solo movie cause they giving all JL members a movie breh
They been trying to get a Wonder Woman off the ground for more than a decade but couldn't get a good script and actress.

No matter how well the movie was put together the Wonder Woman reception would still be the same.

Little girls to old women know who she is.

Only people who only know Ben from Daredevil and the 90s didn't like the idea of him as Batman.

It's either Wolverine or the Hulk but on the real, Deadpool may have leapfrogged to that spot now. He and Wolverine might be neck and neck now
Deadpool's comedy goes a long way

all that martial arts, guns, katana swords all cool enough but them punchlines and on-liners put him over the edge

def not top 5 but hes getting ALOT of hype since that movie

It doesn't matter. Even with that, you still can't put Wolverine up there. He has no TV series, only 2 movies, the X-Men movies are still called "X-Men." He has no solo cartoon except the "Wolverine and the X-Men" that very few people watched and only lasted 1 season.

Truth is, the comicbook reading community and superhero movie community is still a very miniscule and niche market and those that aren't apart of it know Wonder Woman & not Wolverine. They know Robin and not Wolverine. Hell, Iceman, maybe Storm, maybe Cyclops are the most known X-Men.

I didn't say nothing about Wolverine.....

Superhero movie community is very niche ?:mjlol:

if Billion dollar movies with $300 mill budgets is niche ...then :wow:

I like storm but if she was as popular as you describe she would have and held down her own ongoing title right now. While wonder woman has has had one for a long time.

you do realize storm was the actual main character of the xmen comics.
almost all the time from her first appearance till almost the age of apocalypse.

so, all the cockrum claremont years to 1996.
the xmen was essentially about storm as the main character.

wonder woman is just always marketed as the female gateway.
storm is easily the more popular character, when compared to wonder woman by current metrics.

all things being equal... what movie would make more money, a stand alone wonder woman movie or a stand alone storm movie?

and isn't it obvious at this point that WB has absolutely no idea how to handle these properties? you don't think disney would have churned out a classic or near-classic wonder woman movie by now? :ld:

storm was never marketed or wrote in the same type of aesthetic.
that wonder woman was and was never intended to be a character made in the mold of what wonder woman was as a gateway war model.

so, trying to compare them as characters or mechanically is inaccurrate.
there is a reason storm does not have a solo book and when they tried it failed.
all because storm is not created in that type of mold of character.
or the mold of that character reached a definitive resolution in the pages of uncanny. where, storm was essentially the main character.
after the second successful xmen team debuted in giant size number one.

No, notorious is neutral, infamous is negative, whereas famous/popular is positive.

That said, wonder woman is not widely liked or supported like that. It's thr reason so many characters get shots over her.

I don't think you are understanding the usage, breh. The fact you bolded the second part of the statement and not the first is evidence of that.

"There is a slight difference, also, between infamous and notorious. Both mean “well-known for some disreputable or wicked quality, deed, or event,” but notorious emphasizes the “well-known” aspect and is often misused to just apply to famous (not infamous) individuals or events."

Infamous is strictly negative. Even if it is about fame, this is always negative fame. It's almost never used figuratively, or tongue-in-cheek. It's negative fame, be it due to bad failures, or due to evil conduct.

Notorious is more often than not used as a more neutral "famous" - used in contexts, where you want to limit the positive connotation be it not to sound overly flattering or as tongue-in-cheek expression of limited praise. You can be a DJ notorious in clubs of your city, a notorious speaker at Sci-Fi conventions, a notorious hacker with three hundred security advisories published to your name. These don't strictly imply what you do is wrong, they just say you are widely recognized, and simultaneously don't try to trump up your achievements.

Notoriety is more about insistence, being known for repeating your activity, without actually creating anything very notable, while fame or infamy may be about popularity possible to gain with a single truly spectacular performance. Notorious is often used humorously, due to lack of inherent positivity (presenting a positive fame in mock sinister light) and implied insistence, stubbornness (becoming known despite failure to achieve genuine fame, implying poor quality of "production", insufficient to be called "famous".)

As result, fame and infamy are "stronger" than notoriety, and notoriety is more neutral.

It's not in the moment homie. I'm going off of years and years and years of seeing kids rocking Deadpool stuff or seeing Hot Topic flooded with Deadpool stuff on a regular basis. I don't know about whatever part of the planet you're living on, but in the states, there's A LOT of deadpool merch flooding the streets and has been for a while, way before the movie
You're not thinking broad enough, the other names in OP ring out with damn near everyone, I don't know what the fukk dead pool is (or what it's about) nor do any of my friends. We all know super, bat, spidey, wolverine, wonder, hulk, and iron man
