I could bench 300 at 17 years old but stopped lifting after I graduated high school.
12 years later I get back in the gym and I could only max 270 :( ...but I've worked my way up to 385 bench over the past 1.5 years.

Anytime I try to do more than 225 for reps I feel my shoulder about to pop out

How long has that been happening?

Do any other motions/lifts bother your shoulder like that?
I can do ohp but incline and flat bench hurt, been benching since I was 12 though it was a cheat code for pop Warner football most of the other kids only worked out at practice so since then

I been at it since 14 (I'm 40 now)

You're about the opposite of me.

I have tendonitis. Basically a bone spur in both of my shoulders that gets agitated if I do an overhead press (the bone spurs rub against my tendons on that lift) I can flat bench and incline bench still

You might want to get an x-ray from an orthopedic surgeon to see what's up with your shoulder.

This was on my YT feed today.

Dude may be fukked up somewhere else and the shoulder feeling like it's popping out may be the symptom of something else. :ohhh:

Nope. I think I "could" but I'll never be one of those brehs that can bench 2x his body weight. When I was 220 lbs, I could bench about 225 lbs. Now I'm down to 184 lbs, and my max might be 185 to 195 lbs. My strength only goes up when I get a little chunky. Don't like the feeling.

I'm similar.... As in I my bench goes up only when I put on more weight ..

I ain't never been above like 190...
I'd max at like 250:yeshrug:

My chest has always been my strong point tho

I don't even lift any more....

Team eat right and calisthenics :ohlawd:

Just last week I was able to hit 225 for 5 reps for the first time ever lol

My chest is big tho so its whatever. Outside the internet only people I seen bench 315 are fat bodyguard type nikkas
Yeah once I graduated and started going to regular gyms, there is always only a handful of dudes who bench that and they are law enforcement/ ex-military or ex football/wrestler looking dudes. Most people can't bench 225.
