I don’t think you can request and increase… an exam and your medical history will determine that… so as far this … the best way to increase your PTSD rating is going to mental health … ill do bi weekly…. Do this for a few months… then put in for a new exam… so your new exam combined with your history will determine a new rating … cuz If just requesting an increase by a letter was a thing.. then shyt everyone will be making request
I will go this route. I have a good doctor who gets right to the point.

so when you see your doc... make sure the symptoms you mention matches the CFR.... xyz happens to me 5 times a week... xyz causes me to miss work/school 5 times a month... xyz keeps me bedridden 5 times a month... thats the way you do it...mention this with your doc for a few months and then... do the exam... in the mean time... go on the VA site and put in a request for a claim... doesnt matter when you do the things after...but they will backpay you to the date of the date you put in for the claim... so in this order... go to va.gov put in for claim....sched appt with your shrink...you can do bi-weekly....do this for like 3-4 months... so this builds up the medical history...THEN you back on the va site and submit 21-526EZ form for increase on the PTSD... and when you get scheduled for the exam.. the same things you said to the shrink in the format i mentioned.... do the same shyt...this is the best way breh... hope this info helps

man you can write whatever letter matching the CFR all you want... IF THIS IS NOT DOCUMENTED...by your medical records or an exam...it means nothing...cuz anyone can look up info in the CFR and match symptoms to CFR.. its a lost cause breh...he needs to have this documented...i've been down this road...didnt work...i got hip to the game and then did the route i mentioned.... but hey... let breh try and see whats up
Yeah you are absolutely right. Everything has to be confirmed by exam records and the C&P. If it's not you are done. If it was easy everyone would have 100%. That's why treatment is so important.

You need to look at the CFR and see how your symptoms match the requirements for percentage levels. If your symtoms don't match the 50% or higher then you won't get anything. A letter is good but be detailed. I have night terrors 5 nights a week.my anxiety at work has cause me X problems. I get hot flashes X times a day. I have been written up at work for being late. I stopped attending family events because I have been withdrawn, I frequently decline my friends requests to hang out. Lay it all out honestly . It's hard to admit what you may feel but you have too. Also get treatment to help document this stuff.

Yep. CFR is a good baseline but a bigger help would be to seek help and get it documented in your records what you are experiencing

My VR&E got approved the day after I got two job offers
I swear I got weird ass luck :dwillhuh:

The reason I brought up the job offers because that's the reason I applied for VR&E. I had no luck finding a decent gig.
