Kendrick
Please stop these threads. Nas’ catalog is way too much extensive. Kendrick’s catalog is cool but let’s not overdo it now.
Which means there's a lot more trash. Kendrick's is better overall.

However Nas' best>>>>>>>>Kendrick's best.

No double standard, if anyone made LOVE, I'd still call it a great song.

Now if Kendrick made IWW, people would call it kendrick's most disappointing album

Weird take. I'm sure Kendrick himself would tell you IWW is a great album.

And let's be honest: neither Nas or Kendrick are what you would call great singers. But when Nas sings, it's "the fukk he trying that for? Rap!" When Kendrick does it, it's a great song lmao. Come on, that's a double standard.

Thats not a double standard, Kendrick has better comprehension of notes and rythms in general...it would be a double standard if they were equally bad and one had more praise than the other. What you call a double standard is a legitimate praise that you can't comprehend, come on now.

Nas doesn't even know what a chord is, everytime he attempt at having a chord, you only hear the root note, the third, but the fifth is missing lol...

This thread now relies on fans subjective and bold takes, dude really said IWW was a classic
I mean at this point let's call Blue Print 3 a masterpiece :mjlol:

You're comparing Blueprint 3 to IWW? Huh?

IWW is eons better than BP3.

What are we talking about here? How is IWW not a great album?

IWW isn't a classic but Damn is?

The recency bias in this thread is WILD

Listen I'm not an expert on singing but all I'll say is Kendrick's singing is bad on Love. Like really really bad lol. Song is carried by the beat and the guest singer.

What I find fascinating is that some people here don't really seem to understand music, comparing kendrick and nas singing and thinking they're equal is crazy. That is literally INSANE.
To this day, Kendrick has literally displayed some of the best usage of chords and rythms since Andre 3000...no way you're comparing him to nas in the singing department. Now I can't let you do that.

Even Martin Connor wrote a book about that Kendrick's skill:dead:. You can't write shyt about nas because like you said, he's bad at singing

Neither of them are good singers :mjlol:

No one is listening to Kendrick albums for the singing lmao

He's a great artist but no one is confusing him for Marvin Gaye now

Even Backseat Freestyle, which is a song I dislike, is one of the most technical songs ever, but hey, let's talk abour subjective tastes instead

Nas doesn't have a single song with this level of complexity rythm wise...matter of fact, only Andre 3000 is seeing Kendrick in that aspect. And guess what? that's not even kendrick's most technical song. Nas is a great rapper, but do never compare him to kendrick ever again when it comes to the other artistic stuff:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Damn alone, might be the best rap album when it comes to rythms and notes

Thats completely and factually wrong. Not to mention it had massive influence on other genres. TPAB is literally credited for Jazz revival on the west coast. It also influenced albums from Beyonce, Prince, David Bowie, Herbie Hancock, George Clinton, Chuck D, and albums from new artists like Denzel Curry, jazz artist Kamasi Washington, Joey Badass and thats not even a fan argument, there's literally articles and interviews of these artists saying so.

The fact a modern album managed to influence GOAT artists like that is a testament of how impactful it was.
The musicianship and production of the album was great he got a great team of producers and live musicians for it hence its influence in jazz however that shyt was unappreciated and came and went.

The album is nowhere near one of the greatest in hip hop history.
