Never . Growing my family didn't have the money to afford all these Jordans etc. As an adult who can easily afford them, I don't care for them at all.

Never gave a shyt about shoes. I was a Payless kid and I'm proud of it . I don't get the point in spending ungodly amounts on something you wear on your feet. I preferred Puma and Fila, but I don't rock sneakers anymore and go for stuff from Stacy Adams, Kenneth Cole, etc.

Never owned a pair of AF-1's. Would rather wear Timbs.

No different than some of y'all spending hundreds of dollars for video game systems and games. As long as you can afford it who cares. Me personally, my mom bought me my first pair as a freshman then I was introduced to the Nike hustle where I would tear the loop holes after wearing them for the school year and send em back to Nike as defective. They would replace them with next year's model, I did this from 10th grade to 12th and always did it at the end of the school year so they would arrive by the start of the next year. It took about 6 weeks to get the new pair.

My folks bought me one pair when I was 9. grew out of em and never wanted a pair since. I never saw the appeal.

Never had any, no particular reason tbh...I only had a couple of those expensive shoes, Air Force Max in 93, Air Max2 CB in 94 and the Pippen Air Flights (with AIR written on the side) in 96...that's about it

I did.
First year attended an HBCU in which my paternal side had historic ties.
However, I left for a PWI after the first year because the academics were not commiserate with my level of education.
Good people, though.
Some of my best friends to this day.
