na through ebay, there was a refurb sale the other day $55 with hdmi cable , comes with 90 day warranty

http://www.the-coli.com/coli-deals/119545-[deal]-roku-2-xs-$55-free-hdmi-cable.html#.UbPHwPnvuzk

if all works well will be ordering a second one

building a small NAS and setting up plex
I guess thats still a good deal right there

I'm thinking of getting one soon, the DLNA on my tv doesnt do subtitles which means I have to reencode foreign movies to add the subs before I watch them

@RGM
Any body running plex media sever on win 8
having to get a new computer and was wondering how it works

Upgrading my Dual core AMD64 2.6 ghz with 4 GB of ram
to a
octo core AMD FX 8350 4.0 GhZ with 8 GB ram and a 2 GB video card:ohlawd:

on sale @ geeks.com

I wired the house with cat5e when it was being built so i am going wireless N with an access point and hooking a few roku's directly to the wired network
but should be pushing 300mbps on the wireless N ( I hope).

I am, but after a while all of my movies that are encoded in DTS audio pause/skip when I stream them over Plex. Still haven't figured out a fix that doesn't involve me converting the files to AAC audio
:snoop:

Damn, hate to hear that.
i believe all mine are encoded AAC
I had to travel a lot for work a few years back and had movies on my ipod that i would use the TV out function to watch while on travel.
I still use the same program and setup for newer items

I only download Blu-Ray rips that are like 8GB and up in size. It was all gravy for like 2 months, now they just don't play without messing up. I haven't been on the Plex forums lately but hopefully someone over there can tell me why it worked before and not now.

did you download/update any of your multimedia application? they might have updated whatever encoder your pc uses for it

have you tried disabling/enabling the "Enable Media Link down-mixing of DTS audio" option?

Ive always wanted a fully wired setup

but you know only certain models offer Ethernet ports
