Today's game is so pass-centric it's appalling at times.

You look at the top leaders in completion %age, top 10 is almost all guys from this era.

Pennington is #1.

That's a good indicator of how bad a QB truly is if they are in the mid-low 50`s in this passing era.
yeah, when you look at that list and see 3 of the 5,000+ years happened last year, it's telling...

He was better than Marino.

But I digress. I see what you're saying, but QB'ing aint just about throwing the ball down the field, the accuracy on touch throws and in between routes is just as important as throwing it 30 yards on the mark.

Montana the God.

I think I know what qbing is about. But Marino's offense wasn't about making shorter accurate throws like Montana's offense asked of him. Why ignore that?

Marino could make every throw Montana could make. Montana could NOT make every throw Marino could make.

Obviously Smith but on the low Bradford hasn't shown much. But I guess he still has time. :manny:

Yeah, he only set numerous rookie passing records. :heh:

Then only got hurt and sacked like 40 times in just several games last year.

Give him a decent line and someone to throw to, and Sams a top 10 QB

Yea, it's just sad Dan never made more of them throws in the playoffs

As much as i like Joe Montana, he also had the benefit of supreme talent around him.

Did Marino even play with anyone on the level of a John Taylor? Who Mark Duper? Clayton? :leostare:

Marino was basically throwing to a carousel of WR's for a large part of his career.

Marino had talent, Clayton and Duper were pro-bowl WR's. Clayton was 5x pro-bowler 3x all pro. Duper was 3x pro bowl 2x all pro.

How soon we forget Montana won 2 of them SB's without the cast of Taylor and Rice. You trying to big up Freddy Solomon and Dwight Clark like that?

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!!

I won't agree with Jadallic about the Clayton/Duper thing.

They were one of the best receiving duos ever for a short time!!!!

But Montana had HOFamers across the board alongside him compared to Marino.

So Wendell Tyler wasn't a Pro Bowler at RB and that Defense didn't have 4 Pro-Bowlers on it?

What about in 81 and 84, who were the HOF's on them SB teams from the 49ers offense?

Playing with Hall of Famers helps except in Last Emp's world.

Like I said, where were the HOF offensive players from 81 and 84?

It's annoying when uninformed people always try to tie Montana's greatness to Rice, he won just as many rings without him as he did with.

If you want to throw rocks at the throne at least do it logically, tie Montana's success to the emergence of the WCO.
