I'm a Firefighter.. 24hrs on, 48off. Great schedule, laid back for the most part ..Best job ever.
I can't see myself going back to corporate America.. Hitting the glass ceiling, working with black bytches with attitude problems, no time to do shyt in the evenings. Yeah, I'm good.

You just going to ignore the glaring CONS of being a firefighter?
Depends on where he's stationed, my friend is a firefighter in a small town in Westchester County NY, they answer well under 800 calls a year which is pretty much nothing to be honest. And, since the town is small and they don't have multi-lane roads he almost never has to deal with ugly car accidents.
Trading your time on this earth for money is the stupidest, widely accepted concept in society.
Time is all we have, actually putting a price on something as priceless as that is ludicrous.
As soon as I get enough money I'm starting my own business, doing what I want to do.

You know what he meant man. I'll tell you what. Take the lunch out, but add the hour or so it takes to get ready for work and the 30 minute commute to and fro and see how much time your "9 to 5" occupies then
My dad was a firefighter for +25 years and he loved it. It wasn't that laid back at his spot though. He worked in a department in one of the poorest cities in the country so they got a lot of calls (shootings, accidents, house fires, etc).
