I do consulting work. So I pretty much work for a company/person/events for a couple of months as an independent contractor for however long (from home or wherever I'm at. As long as I have a computer and phone)

No set hours :win:
But I get that set pay :win:

Which is pretty great because I get to take on multiple projects at once. Paid. :takedat:

What type of degree u got bro, and what city you in?

I technically have my BA in marketing and sociology. Gonna have my MBA soon, still in school. I'm back and forth between Georgia and Florida and in the summer I'm wherever (Chicago, PA, Ohio, etc.). Mostly only do small businesses/start ups and then work for my university when I can get them to fukk with me for the projects they have. :lolbron: Gonna go full time with it in a couple of years though.

I also do event planning and project management. I don't wanna say I have "employee" but I do have someone who does all my creative stuff and I contract them under my contract when applicable. That's like his own business thing or whatever and I work for him on his projects he gets.

Trading your time on this earth for money is the stupidest, widely accepted concept in society.

Time is all we have, actually putting a price on something as priceless as that is ludicrous.

As soon as I get enough money I'm starting my own business, doing what I want to do.

And you should too.

People say this shyt as if owning your own business does not equal work. Most folks I know that own their business work way harder than your average 9 to 5er

Breh, if you can monetize what you're passionate at, more power two you. But most can't, sowhat I don't get is your "and you should too" stance as if it's automatically the best move to own your own business.

Fine.

It's in the best interest, those that aren't satisfied or content with the thought of working for someone else their whole life to start their own business.

Liberation, is what I'm trying to preach and teach here. :myman:

Once you get a taste of it, there's no going back.

"Most can't" by being their own biggest obstacles. I can tell you're fine in your comfy 9-5 position so more power to you, brother. :youngsabo:

It's not about being comfortable with or enjoying your 9 to 5.

All I'm saying is the only way owning your business is "liberating" is if you're passionate about your business.

Otherwise instead of slaving for a boss you're slaving for clientele.

Yeah
'Tis will fall on deaf ears fam.

Ive come to accept that not everybody thinks about life like this. Most people are comfortable knowing they have something will give that money to put food on the table and a roof over their heads.

man fukk all that!:childplease:

i cut off so many friends with that mentality. :pacspit:

I have the determination that i aint trying to be like that :lift:

I'm not full time, I get 35-39 hours a week, and I work on Saturdays. :shaq2:

But one huge benefit of my job is that I can (and do) work from home most of the time, I only have to go into the office once a week. So I save mad money on gas, not to mention I can wake up 10 minutes before my shift starts and not be late. :myman:
