Masai isn't trading OG unless its a come-up. That's basically his last real remaining asset for rebuilding, other than Siakam (who's an expiring contract).

I can easily see him holding until the trade deadline, if he trades him at all.
Well Anunoby isn’t that good

Not sure why we’d give up Quickley, Fournier, and picks

Quickley by himself is arguably better than Anunoby

You're looking at this from the Knicks fan perspective & not the perspective of Masai who's notorious for holding onto assets unless he sees a fleece

masai doesnt give a fukk about appeasing what the knicks want or trading guys who are going to expire.
he let fvv go for nothing, kyle leave for nothing. he will voluntarily tank value and receive nothing cause he's that hard headed.
he's right now trying to hold onto pascal for whatever reason
dudes like him dont negotiate in good faith. get that OG shyt out your heads

Quickley was definitely better than Anunoby last season.

And Anunoby isn’t even that good to warrant such a reaction you’re talking about a player who is a bottom tier creator for himself and others.

know who else is a bottom tier creator for others? Quickley, only they'd be paying Quickley 100 mil to find that out in a different role.

He’s not.

He’s rangy, can orchestrate the P&R, pushes the ball ahead in transition, and can throw the lob and he never turns the ball over.

Anunoby has a 1:1 assist to turnover ratio and was near the bottom of the league among qualified players for isolation points per possession he isn’t creating for himself or others.

but in the half court he doesn't pass the ball much at all. Every other argument supports why he's a very good 6th man, not why he'd be your primary distributor as your starting PG. The Knicks as a team ranked 28th in assists. Whoever trades for Quickley will be demanding a lot more from him as a distributor (now if he does that then he's a fringe all-star)

96th percentile as a P&R ball handler with above average synergy with all his bigs that alone means he’s not a bottom tier creator. The next step is getting into the paint even more and kick out passing. Based on last season he was elite in the floater range and much improved finishing at the rim and through contact.

U don’t need a PG to dominate the ball and assist hunt nowadays. If Quickley were starting he’d surely give another team anywhere from 18-20 points a night, 4-5 rebounds, 5-6 assists and would be seen in the same light as a Tyrese Maxey.

He can start and more than held his own in his starts last season.

He’d ball the fukk out in Toronto taking FVV’s role it’d be the best thing for him actually.

Barnes is better at the 4 (Siakam will likely be traded too at some point) and Trent is expendable for them :manny:

They can bring back the hometown kid and pair him with Dikk :lolbron:

Let’s say it is Quick question is what will happen with Barrett if Anunoby is acquired?

It’s easier to bench Grimes but not the right decision :mjcry:

If they pulled off IQ/Fournier for OG, I'd assume RJ gets the first look off contract politics. But I picture Grimes supplanting him because the spacing would be broken (unless RJ's jumper takes two leaps in one offseason) and the POA defense would be shoddy like it was to start last season.

Unless the team is just running through the league, I'd expect to start hearing rumblings by the trade deadline.

Brunson/Grimes/OG/Randle/Mitch is the best of both worlds to me. It's got an elite defender at all three levels, while Brunson and Randle can control the offense in halfcourt. I bet the pace would pick up because of stops turning into quick turnarounds too.

His standing in the league has skyrocketed. People have just accepted that he’s better than guys like Trae Young already.

I said it on a Twitter Spaces the other day, but as long as we have Brunson healthy, I'm confident going into the season. He's that good.

Even watching him play yesterday, his numbers weren't too crazy (12 rebounds notwithstanding), but the way he paced everything was wild. Every one of those 12 boards led to an outlet pass for a fast break opportunity and even a bunch of PR's made baskets. It actually made me really curious for what Brunson could be in a more uptempo offense. I think his numbers would dip but he'd be BODYING on hockey-assists and impact analytics.
