You don't agree that there's a middle ground between giving him spot minutes and not playing him at all? Cool. Don't agree with me. Doesn't change that we still in the same spot.

He has no value besides his contract and we're hoping that a star shakes loose so we can use his salary as filler - if that doesn't happen, we have an asset with no value that we'll likely buy out. We went in to this off season with Rose, Fournier and Obi all as likely candidates to be gone and with the hope of packing them for an impact player. If Fournier gets bought out,all we got for those 3 were a couple of seconds. I have an issue with that's but maybe that's just me.

We're having a conversation about Fournier and everyone is getting trapped in this messenger and not the message shyt and losing the bigger picture to make corny ass jokes and showing how short sighted they really are.

Fournier represents a trend of players on this team that were obviously not part of the future that should have been moved or not brought in at all.

Fournier represents a trend of players speaking about Thibodeau's communication skills, which, as he is the head coach for the foreseeable future, could pose as an issue for us as a team as a team actively seeking to attract outside players as opposed to development from within.

Fournier represents a trend of a questionable use of assets by this front office, who seem to be singularly focused on bringing in and playing around with manageable contracts, not impact players, with the hopes of having flexibility to trade for other, better players, that have become disenchanted with their current teams. An approach that is cool in theory, but limits your ability to do anything substantial if no one actually shakes loose, or if the asking price is too high for your liking (see: Donovan Mitchell).

I don't give a fukk about Fournier. I don't give a fukk if he's happy or sad. I care about what he represents and if it will have a negative impact on the team. If he goes tomorrow, we get a decent return in value and nothing bad comes from it, great, I can shut the fukk up
But if they can't move him and they buy him out, he's another asset down the drain and one that presented the inner workings of the team poorly. People can debate the legitimacy of what he said, question if he's just in his feelings or being spiteful, but it's out there now. Just weeks after the Obi situation got out. And it doesn't look good for the team, which is all I give a fukk about.

Yall can argue that shyt differently though. The weird narratives and selective reading got this thread looking real FOX news. I'm good with all that. :hubie:

Players who don't play are always the loudest. When there is justification for them not playing, they don't need to be heard.

Breh I don’t agree with it, shyt I predicted this shyt the moment they hired Thibs, but since then I come to terms with the fact that flaw and all this is why they hired Thibs.

I am telling ya’ll shyt ain’t about to change because Thibs got them to the second round and they look like they will be a playoff team for multiple seasons with a relatively young core.

Thibs sucks but that was what he’s done Dolan hired Leon to do. They can raise the ticket price, the fans aren’t marching in the street saying “Dolan ain’t shyt”. Honestly, the Knicks are in a better place now than they have been throughout the entire ownership of this team by Dolan. Thibs job has never been safer.

They ain’t fit to win a chip, but they ain’t even been in that conversation since the 90’s.

shyt ain’t gonna change, until the expectations for the team rise, and Thibs fails to meet those standards and that’s not even a one season thing, that is multiple seasons of it being clear he is the one holding the team back, and even then replace him with who?

I say all that to say this…. Expect last season, next season.

You know me bro, I'm watching regardless because this is our team lol. We're moving in the right direction but it's very obvious Thibs will only get us so far if he's allowed to continue to keep doing what he's doing by the FO

Yeah but it’s a cycle. What’s scary is I expect him to be here like 3-4 more seasons at a minimum.
:unimpressed: :francis:
It’s going to take clear evidence Thibs is bad in the playoffs for the FO to move on from him. Keep in mind after 2021 the FO started to make moves outside of Thibs by bringing in Reddish, Fournier, and Kemba and he bushed all them dudes.

Obi and Fournier know this is Thibs team and that is why they both went at him in the media, though Obi had that tape leak. Fournier is probably going to end up like Crowder where they excuse him from the team until the deadline.

I get it. But it’s still Evan Fournier. Nobody understands the hierarchy of the league more than the players themselves. When Melo left disgruntled, it was a huge stain on the franchise. Nobody gives a fukk about Fournier leaving upset. And the second we land the big fish, role players will line up trying to play for the cheap, trying to get a ring in NYC.
If it was just Evan Fournier, that'd be all good and well. But like I said, Obi was unhappy too. Evan's not the first to mention Derrick Rose being unhappy despite what Rose said publicly. That's a pattern of complaints, and it's not like we don't see the bad reputation elsewhere. Klutch Sports doesn't want to send players to NY and apparently LaVine didn't want to go back to Thibs.

This FO just has to learn to cut ties faster. It's not that complicated since they aren't even getting anything in return for these guys. Obi got back a second-rounder years from now. Rose got waived. Why hang on to disgruntled pieces? They consistently got salty dudes sitting around that'll eventually get dealt for garbage anyway.

Exactly bro. I really believe some of these dudes have a pic of Thibs tatted on their chests in how much they defend him
:heh:

The FO & Thibs way of handling things horribly has been so blatant
