Somebody has to want Evan.

They sent Obi to a team that wanted him w/ a starting role likely. And threw his brother some training.
The point is, its a bad look for da organization when we consistently have assets who leave here disgruntled and confused because of a lack of communication and respect.

You see how thibs communicated to.his bestie D.Rose? He can do that WITH everyone, not just his buddies. Now im pretty sure Rose will go to Memphis with nice things to say about us l.

We keep doing this to players and its a bad look regardless of how anyone wants to paint it..Fournier isn't a player i care for but he's a pretty chill, well liked, level headed guy. It's off brand to see him angry like that but clearly he was pushed.

OBi always had a smile on his face and was super positive and he was out there callin Thibs a bytch ass nikka 🤣

It's a problem that needs to be addressed

Then they should've moved the nikka already, that's the fukkin point bruh. It's not we got games to win and that's it. They over here holding out for the "right" deal, fingers crossed for a star to shake loose to package him, meanwhile this nikka is getting chatty because his career is being held up, talking shyt about the coach and it looks bad for team business when players start talking about their coach pulling you out of the rotation like nothing.

Again, myopic shyt that doesn't consider the business as a whole because it wins us a few extra games in a season that don't mean shyt. Frog should've been gone but instead he's talking while on the team dime.

It's dumb. Simple.
Exactly. The FO should've moved him already when he had more value. They knew he wasn't a "Thibs guy" & him being benched was inevitable. But you also see how Thibs made the relationship deteriorate right? And even Rose was mentioned not being happy; I imagine that relationship took a hit too. NBA guys talk & it makes me wonder what star would wanna play for him

Knicks were 37-45 with Evan hitting all those 3s. What exactly did he accomplish?

His minutes went to better defensive players and they went 47-35.

It's kinda wild to see fans of a team upset with the coach because he's holding the role players defensively accountable.
It's called being a professional coach & not burning bridges. Guys in the NBA talk

He kinda has a point. I feel more strongly about never using Obi as a pick and roll big before dealing him. But this front office's patience is a gift and a curse because
gift: They don't make backbreaking moves or take big risks.
curse: They hold onto assets way past their peak value. It's like everyone can see the writing on the wall except for the FO.

At some point, they HAVE to take a big shot. They have to be decisive before Brunson's opt-out hits. I think whatever that move is will end up being the defining one for this FO...ironic because the Brunson signing is probably the most important move regardless.
It’s clear the asset is the contract not the player. While I loved the signing originally, all that three point shooting didn’t do shyt for us cause he was an absolute turnstile on defense. And those players are a relic in todays league. Only way you can justify playing a player that’s that much of a negative on defense is if he’s a walking threat to drop 40 on any given night. You can’t find players like Evan Fournier on any roster that’s trying to be something.

No vet is going to be happy not playing and this is what this comes down to.

Once a vet isn’t playing the bridge is burned.

Thibs as a professional coach did what was best for the team

Lol at taking French fukks side

Myopic shyt like this is why we're in this position.

You don't publicly devalue an asset you no longer see value in. You don't want him? Showcase him. Play him situational minutes against other teams benches and put him in a position to succeed. Play him in spots with other, capable defenders to cover his weak spots. Play him in blowouts and give him a greenlight. Do that and see if you can maximize your return while you can trick someone into believing he still has value- OR, don't, and take your scraps and shut the fukk up because signing him was a bonehead move to begin with and cut your losses. Addition by subtraction. These a$$holes rather go with this not negotiate with terrorists bullshyt and aren't doing either and now, nearly a month after the off season started, this frog is still on payroll talking shyt, devaluing his worth even more.

Dumb.
But let’s be specific. Cause there’s push and pull in everything. We already know playing him garbage time minutes in blowouts does nothing. Every team has nba scouts who aren’t dummies. So how many wins potentially, and whose development specifically are you willing to sacrifice in hopes of trading Evan Fournier for something decent? Cause we cry when this team doesn’t prioritize the young guys, and when they FINALLY do, and it works like we always knew it would, it seems like we’re finding new ways to complain.

It's hilarious how I be talking shyt to y'all nikkas (formerly @RiGGA) but year after year we both end up being hot ass. I honestly have no idea who's going to win another title first, Knicks or Bulls. You not getting shyt done with Brunson as your best player, but neither are we with Lavine :russ:.

But hey, it could always be worse.. we could be fans of the Wizards or Timberwolves. Y'all ready for another mid ass season fellas

This happened with Austin Rivers, Kemba walker, Cam, Obi, and ofcourse Fournier.

This is why other players don't wanna play with Thibs. He doesn't have the basis human decency to communicate with players and keep them in the loop about what's going on.

And if you challenge or question him in anyway, whether private or subliminals in da media, he catches feelings and holds grudges.

Fournier made da most threes in knick history last season lmao and was top 5 in a three pointers in a three pointers league. You can't tell me we couldn't of used him in a trade.

The front office is trash man
And he was wrong about absolutely zero of these players. (I GUESS the verdict is still out on Obi but he’s gonna have to be a 2 time all nba player to prove Thibs wrong).
