Rey is the WOAT. There’s nothing wrong with switching up with a female lead after 6 movies about all these dudes running around. The real problem with Rey is that her story had no blood sweat or tears whatsoever, which goes against everything Star Wars was ever about.
Being a Jedi is about hard work, sacrifice, discipline, learning from failure, compassion, selflessness, forgiveness, courage, and honor. You have to EARN that mess, just like Obi Wan, Anakin, Ashoka, and Luke EARNED it.
Rey never had to actually work to EARN anything, or make any real sacrifices, or have to live with the consequences of making bad decisions. You never see her struggle, make mistakes, or take any L’s. She was just better than everybody at everything just because. There’s no progression with her character because she can always beat everyone with no training and never needs help from anyone. That’s not storytelling.
What sucks the most is that they turned Finn into a minstrel and threw nearly all of the OG characters under the bus (especially Luke and Anakin) just to prop her up. WACK.

the hope is a woman! That's different! They also didn't cast a different actress or try to digitally age her for her scenes in the future, just put dirt on her face and gave her corn rolls.
