Someone seem to forget that rokk music is a hybrid of rhythm and blues.

:comeon:

the only thing the white people did was get rid of the horns and the acoustic bass guitar.
add ELECTRIC guitar and some white skin and you get your mainstream "rokk and roll"

:skip: I can say unchallenged that black people like basketball more than hockey.

And white people love baseball more than Black people.

lol you act like those statements would be offensive.

it not about it being offensive, but how accurate is it really? Had the NBA setup training farms in hispanic countries like MLB did, guess what, hispanic folks would like basketball more than baseball

Loll but they didn't. You are speaking in hypothetical. It's very accurate. Black people like basketball more. White people like hockey more. Hispanics excel at baseball. It's their national sport. They play regardless of gear and money. Same way they play soccer. We play basketball regardless of funds. We put the crate up. You are ignoring cultural factors.

i see what you're saying but thats like saying black people didn't start chillwave, basically a spawn of hip hop instrumentals with vocals sprinkled in. if there was no rap (and electronic to some extent), there would be such thing as instrumentals, thus no chillwave.

we can argue all day whether it would have happened anyway, but thats not the point. black people pioneering rock n roll, helped the movement start in the uk, which eventually turned into its own sound.
:dahell:You cant just trace everything to the roots. Thats such a copout... There's more to music then just who did it first

If I had to put it into an analogy I would do it like this....

The foundation for a lot of it, whatever name you want to tie to it, was by black artists in the form of the blues. You could even go as far to say that those same artists put the frame up. Other artists jumped in and contributed to building the house, tossed on a roof, made it worth a lot more, money wise, but now the house is painted completely white. That house doesn't get many black artists these days so there is no chance of maybe changing the shade color of the house or interior walls.

This is what happens when you don't know your history and dont pass your true history on effectively. I truly believe that what the O/P is doing right now could very well be done by someone to hip hop 50 years from now.

Think about what's popular right now, that's what the history of this era will be taught as. It doesn't matter that most of the people buying the albums are white people that don't know shyt about the culture of the music and that most nikkas don't even listen to the bullshyt that is at the top of the charts (Macklemore, Eminem, Drake, the jewish white kid Etc.). What will be taught is that first Eminem won grammies then Drake then Macklemore and that they ushered in a new era of hip hop.

It's sad really, cause even if this post should happen to ring true to you.....what exactly are you going to do differently to change the way things are?

Thus why the need for proper perspective and context, before making generic BS conclusions. Ignore the influence on a young hispanic kid, seeing multi-millionaire hispanic baseball players on TV and while MLB ball clubs have partnerships with local governments to setup training farms brehs

Had blacks folks been able to eat off of rock and roll, then R&B and maybe even hiphop probably wouldn't have been as popular or come into existance, in black culture
