Someone that has gone their entire life without interacting with a black person is likely not going to be liberal to begin with. Everyone at NYU is not automatically "liberal." There's ignorance everywhere.

You don't just naturally have an affinity for that which is different without ever even having interacted with it, particularly when the message about that different group portrayed by the media is often biased and negative. If someone has gone their entire life only interacting with individuals analogous to themselves, there's generally a reason for that happening, and none of those possibilities stem from a liberal or progressive mentality.

I'm no fan of republicans, but at least they are outwardly honest with their dislike of blacks. liberals have been much more effective in using blacks

they come in the form of friendship, but have dismantled our family structure with their welfare policies, and they've helped severely cull our population by bringing in abortion to our communities. Now that the negroes are 'locked in', what is the democratic party doing for blacks other than using them as a footstool to get their agenda completed before tossing them aside?

You have to understand that LBJ was from Texas and his appointment to the vice presidency was to ease dixiecrats who were skeptical about supporting Kennedy and his coziness with the civil rights movement and liberalism in general. This was right around the time when racist democrats were feeling alienated by the progressives within the party who were for civil rights. Southern democrats were a lot more conservative than today's democrats. Even in places like Oklahoma the democrats there are even more conservative than northern republicans.
It was the same thing with Abraham Lincoln and his appointment with Andrew Johnson who was from the south and a virulent racist. Abraham Lincoln needed the racist southerner's white votes. Both LBJ and Andrew Johnson were figureheads in the Lincoln and Kennedy administration to keep white supremacist from getting too riled up while simultaneously making sure they couldn't do too much damage to progressive causes. This is the same reason why Biden was chosen as a running mate instead of Hillary. Joe Biden was an old white guy and helped ease fears that Obama was the sign of an impending race war against white people.


No one really expected both of these guys to get killed which is why it was a huge deal when they became president and why you saw so much racist crap from their administration. Southern democrats are usually always much more conservative than northern liberals. Once the dixiecrats got pissed with democrats for supporting civil rights, Nixon coddled them with the southern strategy and a huge majority of them ended up becoming republican which is why the south is heavily republican today.

I'm not saying there aren't racist democrats today but be very careful about history because conservatives will twist it and there were a lot of progressive democrats who fought harder for civil rights than a lot of sellout c00ns today would ever fathom.
