He left the city of Newark worse than when he found it and basically took credit for all the groundwork that Sharpe James had been laying for a decade prior. He also allowed corporate interests to buy up the entire downtown and lo and behold they're beginning to buy up the outskirts pushing out the primarily Black residents out into the lower income parts of Irvington, Orange and East Orange. Furthermore there is no way an unmarried (possibly gay) democrat is going to win the primary and even if he does Trump is going to rip him up like a chew toy.
