Yea I’m tired of Jamaican Haitian Trini Guyanese food and want to tour a few of the islands.

I also hear Belizean food - at least the Afro culture of Belize is identical to Jamaican. I believe Jerk chicken is popular there also.

Yeah, most Caribbean islands (well, the English speaking ones, anyway) are pretty similar, gastronomically. :ld:

But Dominica's food is just that bit more fresher. They don't call it the nature island for nothing.:banderas:

Yea Haitian restaurants ironically have blown up due to gentrification. Haitians know they won’t have problems impressing hipsters with their food.

There was a Haitian spot across my college in Manhattan and a lot of the professors would go in groups to eat the food.

Professors from all different backgrounds.

Hipsters love authentic ethnic food lol. Ironically some genres of food are doing better because of them

Seeing lots of Haitian shout outs and after googling, that shyt looks good. I don’t think I’ve ever had it. What are some of the standout dishes? What are some good spots in NY? I’ll try to hit one when I’m out there next

But personally I’m going with Jamaican and Cuban. Trini is good too, but a lot of it is soooo closely tied to Indian food that I can’t put it number one because it’s not unique enough IMO

Above the fray.
Are you referring to where the food originated? Cause most of the islands cook the same thing or slight variations of.
Places with heavy east Indian presence have food that reflects that.....JA,T&T,Guyana which makes the cuisine different than the islands without that.
