As someone who's lived in Texas, NC, and TN... Texas has by far the most overrated BBQ in America.
Memphis is the BBQ king and it aint even a competition.

I compared what I had in Texas to what I had in Memphis. I had Iron Works bbq in Austin (not a chain). I had Interstate bbq and Central bbq in Memphis. From what I understand Iron Works isn't even the best in Austin, but it still blew out what I had at both places in Memphis. The ribs were too dry in Memphis, as in cooked at too hot of a temperature for too long. Only can compare what I had.
That's cause you ate at white folks ass central BBQ. All in the safe parts of town and shytI compared what I had in Texas to what I had in Memphis. I had Iron Works bbq in Austin (not a chain).
