These "arguments" are garbage as fukk. You're basically saying that the proof that Stockton wouldn't be good in today's era is that currently there are no white boys his size excelling at point guard. Then when I bring up black point guards around his size who's games don't rely on athleticism who have been good to great in this era, you respond talking about their parents, what they did at some workout, or you just exaggerate how athletic they are. shyt isn't even worthy of a response.
I can't even take aren't this shyt you're saying seriously. The funny thing is, I see you in other threads so I know that you can do better. You're wrong here, just fall back.
You said that Mike Conley was unathletic and that John Stockton was just as athletic as him, I pointed out to you that Mike Conley is literally in the top 0.01% at least of most athletic people in the world, and you wanna take your ball and go home.
You don't realize that you're killing your own argument. You're pointing that if you're short, then to be a good point guard you have to be extremely athletic
even if your game doesn't relying on athleticism. You have to be that athletic just to hang in there.
I keep challenging you to name the last short white point guard who starred without being a great athlete, and you keep juelzing away from the answer. You
can't, because there
isn't.
It's not just a crazy coincidence that all short players are strong athletes. It's not just a crazy coincidence that all the White Americans suddenly disappeared. You keep failing to explain those phenomenoms that have obvious explanations. I named 15 White guards under 6'5" who were everyday starters in the 1990s. WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Steve Kerr is on record saying he wouldn’t be make the league in this era
Steve Kerr: ‘There’s no way I could have played in the NBA today’
That just killed their entire argument. 6'3", one of the deadliest jumpers in NBA history, was putting in 20-25 minutes for multiple championship squads, deeply associated with today's players.
And he says he wouldn't even have made it onto the court.
“Just watching our guys and how talented they are and how talented Houston is, there’s no way I could have played in the NBA today,” Kerr said Monday during Game 1 of the WCF. “I came around at the right time, 20 years ago.”
Didn’t Stockton average almost 15apg a few years, try again
Doncic was ROY I think Stockton would be fine
Doncic is 8 inches taller than Stockton and a better athlete, what kind of comparison is that?
That's like saying Mugsy Bogues could still make it today because Kyrie is a star.
But why keep mentioning athleticism? Rod Strickland played in an era that combined athleticism and skills, and he wasn't athletic. He played under the rim, and was more than effective. Same thing for Mark Price. He played under the rim, floaters, and a quick pull-up, splitting double teams. These defenders can't even get through a pick or switch right, so he'd go right through them, pull-up or floater.
This is what Mark Price looks like trying to score from under the rim under any kind of pressure whatsoever.
He doesn't have the first step or the lift to get the clearance he needs. In the 1990s nearly all his scoring was done in the open, he wasn't scoring with a guy in his grill. He needed separation. Now look at how quickly IT lost the ability to get separation after his injury. Even an injured IT is much quicker and stronger than Mark Price. So how is Price getting the separation he needs to get his jumper off?
And you're exposing yourself saying "these defenders". In the 1990s defenders weren't even TAUGHT how to switch on a pick, like they literally said they didn't even work on it in practice.
Watch this video. Stockton and Malone are strong on the pick-and-roll, I'm not denying that. But watch it for the defenders - their defense is almost
comically bad.
