Its worse to get 12-0 shutout.

A KO, your opponent could have caught you with a lucky shot, 1st round, 12th round, just one shot. You could be winning, fight even, all kinds of scenarios.

A 12-0 shutout, that means your opponent beat you in a round for 3 minutes, and ELEVEN times, you went to your corner, and looked across the ring at that man in the eye, knowing you only have 60 seconds before that man beats you for 3 more minutes, and you can't do anything about it. That is much worse.

I think it depends on the level of sonnage involved in the 12-0.

If you just getting beaten up for 12 rounds it's a lot worse than a KO for a fighter mentally.

AJ and Whyte were talking smack almost instantly after they took their last KO L's.
Doubt it would have been the same if they got smacked around the ring for 12 rounds.

Ruiz was back talking shyt and making excuses right after getting 12-0 blanked by Joshua in the rematch. :francis:

but I do agree that it depends on the sonnage level. Not every 12-0 is the same. You can be competitive in every round and still lose each one, but then you got some fights where a guy loses every minute within the round for the whole fight.
