I think KO is worse for memes and general public perception but getting shutout gotta be a bigger hit to the pride

I think getting brutally stopped hurts your pride even more.
At least with losing the decision you can say you tried, but was just outclassed. You can spin that into some type of moral support victory. You were tough enough that you couldn't get stopped.

but there's no positive way to spin a brutal KO. Jrock getting stopped twice by uppercuts (Charlo/Rosario) is a bad look for a dude that went 12 kicking Hurd's ass.

Anytime they promoting Jermall Charlo they using that clip from the Jrock fight. shyt was years ago. Don't matter that the fight was competitive n close before the stoppage. Everybody just remembers that Dragon Punch that took dude's soul away. nikka can't even live that down.

This made me think does it make sense to just quit during a shutout, throwing in the towel cause of points :russ:
Remembered Loma vs Rigo but Rigo actually won a round on two judges cards, not sure if his corner was aware or not

Shiiiieet, quitting during a shutout where your not getting your ass kicked is even worse imo. You can't even use the "Well, he doesn't need to take that extra punishment excuse." You just frustrated and giving up on yourself. You might as well fake a knockdown and go all out at that point. :mjlol:

I said KO at first thought but changed my answer. Fighting 36 min and not winning a 3 min stretch at any point of the fight is just flat out embarrassing. Some great fighters have been KO'd, not too many great fighters have ever been shut out.
This plus there is such thing as a puncher’s chance.

A sustained beating for twelve rounds feels worse to me because people can use that footage to pick and choose highlights or tutorials.

It also ages you like crazy (combat years wise) but a flat out KO is easy to remember and quickly make something out of.

Also 12-0 means the ref didn't even bother thinking about stopping the fight

Facts......lowkey quitting when your not hurt should have been the 3rd option. That has to be worse than getting blanked or knocked out.
You literally gotta have an ATG career to where nikkas don't harp on it (which some will still do anyway)
