12-0 always. That's way worse then just being knocked out. Anyone can be knocked out given the right circumstances.

But out of a possible 12 rounds - another man dominated, outclassed, and outskilled you in every possible round. Horrible L

I think people overlooking the fact that you can get dominated and outclassed and still knocked out too.

From reading a lot of these posts, it seems like nikkas think the KO only coming from an exchange in a competitive fight.

Hell, I rather get 12-0 blanked then 8-0 blanked and then stopped.

When Canelo shut out Junior, I thought that was the most embarrassing thing ever. And Canelo never sat in his corner if I remember correctly. Between rounds he just stood in his corner real disrespectful like it wasn't nothing.

KO's give the opportunity to prove was a fluke in a lot of cases. Many times a guy gets blitzed cold early or they could be winning the fight and get caught with something. Getting shut out 12 rounds is bad in almost every scenario. most likely your a shyt boxer, your opponent is way better than you, or your mind was completely somewhere else for 12 rounds. you really have no excuse to even request a rematch.

I’m on the fence with this because I can see both sides. A 12 round shutout can be devastating to a fighter. Look what happened to Roy Jones jr. vs James Toney. RJ made him look like he didn’t even belong in the same arena & that spiraled JT mentally & his career for years.

True but I also think James was mad at himself cuz he knew he didn't give it his best shot. Wasn't Roy fault that he was drained and came into camp overweight.

To keep it 100, I came up with this topic partially because of Toney's L to Roy.

Even if he didn't get 12-0'd, he got beaten in such a dominating fashion that it really affected a ton of people's perception of Toney. Toney is an elite/A+ talent, but he got was beaten so dominantly by another elite/A+ fighter in RJJ, it made plenty people question how great Toney really is. It might have been better for him if Roy just stopped him honestly lol
