If a person can't respect that that you don't need to even engage with them. Had a situation pop off with someone I know on IG and despite me overthinking the shyt, I'm glad I can be upfront and not sugarcoat shyt.

Honesty is overrated. sometimes lying is a good way to encourage people or protect their feelings. Telling your friend you don't think he will ever amount to shyt is honest. but not helpful. telling he has potential to be something great even though you don't think he will might encourage him to prove you wrong.
My most common lie is to tell people i'm busy with something rather than just being honest and saying i don't feel like hanging out with you today. I've found that that does much better for relationships. Because just because i don't wanna hangout that day doesn't mean i don't ever want to hang out, and i'd rather not give them the impression that i don't fukk with them.
