He had him jogging in his corner, it doesn't take 10-15 seconds to check that lol. Cmon bro. But it was a good storyline so can't hate .

All refs do this. You can't just stand. You have to be standing by 10, but then they'll check to make sure the fighter can go on, and the fighter has to respond. They'll do a number of things - tell you to raise your gloves, ask can you continue and check your eyes, ask you to walk to corner and come back and fight. If you've heard of a standing 8 count, it's the same practice. Ref did a great job.

Actually, more credit should be given to Fury. He did the right thing by giving himself a couple of seconds to regain focus before trying to stand.

Jogging in the corner?

Yal got a really, really obvious slant when it comes to a lot of this stuff

When refs are asking guys to walk or take a step forward, its to see if they're wobbly - and if they are? That's how fights get stopped even with a guy getting back up under the 10 count. The ref even pushed Fury's arms away when he tried to put his arms forward to lean on him in an effort to keep his balance. People are getting that episode of the fight COMPLETELY backwards. When refs don't do this and let over eager fighters back in there in order to appease the crowd or keep the energy going, guys get cleaned the fukk out and lose years off their careers.

Out of all things that happened in Fury/Wilder, the officiating was actually fantastic.

It’s a 10 count by the ref not 10 seconds. The fighter gets up to the count of the ref.
Nah, it's actually 10 seconds and the ref is also assisted by officials at ringside to get the count right. But it shouldn't even matter in that case because Fury was up after around 9 seconds so either way he beat the count. That Nasheed video is even disproving dude's own claim as Fury touched the canvas at around 0:03 and is up at around 0:13. Video is grainy so we can properly see stuff but with the actual Showtime video, there's no doubt.

Well the two point stuff mattered, no matter how mad u are...its the knockdowns that cost that draw. No knockdowns...Fury walks away with it..like when they robbed Mayweather on the Canelo scorecard but everyone else got their mind right.
Im not mad, as it was a great fight, that’s what matters the most.
But I was right. And I don’t get how even some long time boxing fans can buy into myths that skills nit needed and one can beat everyone purely off of punching power.
We saw what happened. It was not enough this time. Not for a knockout, not for a win on the cards and in most ppl book not enough to avoid defeat. And that against a Fury who had his comeback bout just 6 months ago where he was still almost 280 pounds. Imagine what happens if he gets even better for the rematch.

Well no.. Fury is reacting to the referee's count. Boxers don't look at a stopwatch, you follow the referee's count. He safely made the referee's count. He sat and decided to get up at at 6 I believe. If the refs count was faster, you would assume Fury gets up faster.

v
'casual' :mjlol:

All this fight did was expose how many casuals the coli has. All of you sat here crying throughout the fight as your hero got exposed. Anyone who knew anything knew it would go like this if Fury's head was in it.

Joshua blasts Wilder out the first time he gets wild. Joshua is too cautious now to get caught with that terrible, but powerful, right hand. And his power is another level to Fury's. Joshua finds him sooner or later.

I'm sorry guys, i know you all wanted the next great american heavyweight but Wilder isn't and will never be it, the kings are in Europe, you're fighting for second place.

Usyk embarrasses Wilder too.

Usyk gonna be hell for Wilder and Joshua. Hate to use the triangle theory but if Szpilka could frustrate Wilder, then i have no doubt that Usyk can as well.

Now if he gets clipped by Wilder, good night

Fury was still winning....

As for the "long 10" count, check out the Tyson vs Douglas fight, the count doesn't start when you think it should start, its when the opponent is in the neutral corner, and the ref comes over to the knockdown fighter. I repeat, the count does not start when the boxer hits the ground immediately.

wilders two knockdowns means he only needed to win 3 rounds to get an draw
u cant tell me fury won 1-8, plus 10 and 11 lol
a lot of those early rounds could of gone either way
and again, boxing is scored on a round by round basic
even if you think fury won, it was still a close fight

This.

Wilder was losing everyone round but the 12 for me.

Breh, I'm on the side of the count being good, re read my posts in this thread :lolbron: What I was saying is that ref's count is depending on the officials ring side that starts it once a boxer is down then the ref follows up. There are alternate angles of the KD where you could see the one of the two ladies ring side getting up and starting the count and then the ref looks at her to see at what second he should continue on. It's impossible to exactly have a 10 seconds count as the ref doesn't have a stopwatch on him but the rules of boxing does state that a boxer should regain his feet within that time.

I don't know how anyone could bet v. Wilder. Dude has great athletic ability and a right hand from God. Even if you think Fury, AJ, Ortiz are better fighters, Wilder dont have to be perfect. He just has to be good and just needs one shot. He threw 407 punches, extremely inaccurate for most of the fight and still landed a shot that would knock out any HW we have seen. Let's be real about it! Not many power guys have the punching power stamina. Not at all. He had that even when his stamina was completely down and his fighting discipline went to shyt due to being completely outclassed
I would never bet against Wilder, although I did think Fury would give him huge problems like he did. His style is just extremely hard to fight. Klitschko looked confused the entire fight with Fury, there was no way Wilder would be able to figure out that puzzle.
Still, Widler has a great ability to find that one death shot in pretty much every fight. Mediocre skills or not, there's something to be said for that. You don't get lucky that many times in a row. So, he's always capable of winning, even looking gassed as hell in the last round like last night.

"Joshua can't do what Fury does" Can he do what Gerald Washington does though?:sas2:

We all know Wilder has relied on that one bomb to bail him out vs every decent opponent he's faced, but Joshua will randomly be the exception? Like you need Fury level skills to piece up Wilder anyway. :skip:

Wilder has proven time and time again he can land one or two bombs in a fight, but as we just saw, against elite competition that won't always be enough.

After yesterday, it would be common sense to bet against Wilder while only giving him a lucky punchers chance.

Deontay needs to worry about how he should have lost to a flabby and sick, Dr. Eggman version of Fury before he worries about anyone else anyway. Fury has proven he's shaken off the ring rust and has already reacclimated to Championship level competition, when he comes into the rematch in even better shape who really gives Wilder a real chance?

Wilder always gonna have chance but I agree, Fury beats him on the rematch more

also I think AJ beats him cause that fight would boil down on who's getting to the other quicker and I think it would be AJ with his better, tighter technique, counterpunching ability and ability to exchange in the pocket/inside.

Can't write off Wilder in any of those fights though cause he did drop and/or stop everybody he faced so far but if I'd have to bet I'd bet on the 2 Brits.
